So I've just got a new pc for gaming but I find my self gaming less and less but listening to music more and more. My birthday is in a couple of months should I buy a 200£ sound system or 200£ of monitors? what would break/go out of date quicker?
The monitor i have atm is this one Posted Image yeah I know its old

Looking at your computer I would say forget the monitors and speakers and get a new PC.

From what I can tell it looks like a Dimension 2400 or so with a Pentium 4 and Windows XP. I know this because I have one on the floor serving as a second router:

I stream games and things once in a while. :)

Depends on the manufacturer. Monitors and sound systems don't really go out of date, they will probably break before that happens.
