So, I just read Volume 1 of Scott Pilgrim, and I loved it! I think it deserves a thread, so here you go, Scott Pilgrim fans (or haters) can post any Scott Pilgrim crap here!

I liked the comics, the film was good but not as good as the comics obviously.
The last book is by far the worst, very disappointing.

Never read the comics, but the movie was awesome.

I've only read Volume 1, and haven't seen the movie, but it's great. At first, it's all "Oh, Scott likes 2 girls at once, drama!" And then "WHAM! Scott's ambushed by some emo Indian kid that can summon demons!" You should read it.

Well it's all one big story. The problem with the last one is that it's the longest, but it's also the one where the least stuff happens. In all the books the fight scenes only last around 5 pages each, but in the final book the fights make up most of it.

Yeah, I mean, they barely mention the evil exes in volume 1 until, like, the last 50 pages, except for those letters and e-mails Scott got.

Oh, I was talking to my bro about Scott Pilgrim, and he said that they made fun of it in the movie Kickass. I don't know if that's true, though.

EDIT: Oh, and how many exes did he fight in the last one?

It's about 23 year old Scott Pilgrim, who meets an amazon worker named Ramona, and he must defeat her 7 evil exes if he wants to date her. Oh, and there's a crap ton of game references.

Kinda. They have mild swearing, and Scott almost has sex with Ramona in volume 1.

He only fights one. It's still a good book and I guess it was sort of building up to a massive fight, but I prefer the dialogue over the action.
It was enjoyable, the story is good there just wasn't enough of it. I guess it couldn't have been any different since all the character development had been completed in the previous books.

Not at all. Although your definition of adult might be different to mine. All the characters are in their early 20's, I think it helps to enjoy it if you're about that age. One of my friends dad was a fan of the books, he liked it because it reminds him of his glory days.
There's some blood and swearing, but no nudity. Nothing is overly graphic or obscene.

Oh, I forgot to mention, it's a comic.

Again, Scott almost has sex with Ramona, but other than that, it's fine.

Even James Bond has more graphic sex than that.

Yeah, good point.

Yeah, it's pretty much fine other than the occasional swear.

So, uh, guys, I.. um... "acquired" Volume 1. in the internet with the purpose of buying the whole series later(my bro convinced me to), and I was debating on whether to get the box set or to buy them separataly on amazon. Buying them individually is less expensive, but only by, like,
a dollar, and the boxset comes with a sweet box thingy and poster. Which do I get?!

Get the box set. It comes with cool looking box and the poster is even better.
Using the word 'Hate' is bad. Use dislike! <3 My signature makes treeco123 mad.

Yeha. I know, that's why I was debating between the two, even though the box set costs more. Thanks, bro.

No kidding. I could go all day just talking about how great of a story it was beyond all the jazzy special effects and neat choreography. The movie did what it can from what was given, but the comics certainly touched on the mature storyline much more.

I even blogged about it.
