Couplea tips; If you can, you should really let your server have 1024M. At 512, I guarantee you will have heap exceptions.
Get to know the command line, it will make your server operating life much easier. Especially if you're planning on using plugins.

Wow, my posts have been getting buggy, when I first put that up it had three different startups :T
