Well I'm damn near dancing here, looking at the opening post. Is that anvil also tiered? What's that potion thing? The club kinda looks like a macuahuitl. Also, scythes, are there going to be multiple tiers of that too, or will we only need one scythe of epicosity?
But to answer one of the questions, No the anvil isn't Tiered its just one Anvil of Epicosity!
EDIT: .... well... now that I think about it... its an upgrade of the new MineCraft Anvil we had to add that into the recipe since they decided to add the anvil before we managed to finish ours.

No; poison; it is; yes; if you want.
Let me elaborate:
The anvil is not currently tiered (Maybe it could be in a future update? I don't know.)
That potion thing is the first tier weapon poison (for a fun time, try drinking it!).
That club is, in fact, a Macuahuitl, and a very powerful one at that.
The scythe is technically a Kama (same thing really, just shorter) and it currently has two tiers.
That's probably all I'm going to reveal until the full release, which I suspect will be before the end of the week.
I hope you can contain your excitement until then.

I've been waiting since 1.3.2, I can survive a little longer. Keep up the great work!

BoneCraft 1.4.6-1.0 is out!
Changelog:
- Updated to Minecraft 1.4.6
- Switched from ModLoader to Forge. ModLoaderMp is no longer used by the mod, before everyone asks.
- Various weapons added, some of which have a secondary or primary function as tools.
- Bone Anvil added. The anvil serves as a custom crafting table with functionality for repairs and
enchantments and is required to make diamond and higher weapons and armors.
- Some foods added, including food drops from sheep and squid. (I may end up moving this to a
separate "extras" download at some point if it is requested)
- Custom enchantments added for BoneCraft weapons.
- Pirate translations be add'd for all the BoneCraft items. Yarr!
- Lots o' behind-the-scenes changes.
- Other stuff that I'm sure I missed.
We're working on a wiki now for recipes & all that good stuff that would never fit on the first post.
Oh awesome. This is even better than I thought it'd be. My only complaint is I don't like the aruval, but that's an IRL thing for me. I've handled them a couple times, and they're stupidly off balanced. too much weight at the end of the blade. I love how you've made all tools and weapons that are unique though. Too many mods out there that just introduce more and more and more swords and bows. Imma play with these for a good long time though. goodbye vanilla weapons.
Edit: Also, the anvil is kinda dwarfed by the vanilla anvil. I pictured it a bit bigger.
Further edit: Will you be coming up with other blades to go with the handle? It's certainly a system you could do a lot with.

To be fair, the macuahuitls have almost the exact same functionality as swords.
As for the swords/bows: I agree, the large selection of color-swapped swords and bows gets boring after a while. I was considering adding bows at one point, but I eventually decided against it because of technical issues and esc's complaining about how it wouldn't work irl because bones won't flex like wood (not that realism issues have ever stopped us before).

Big things can come in small packages, no? The differences between our anvil and the vanilla one are largely because we had somewhat planned ours out before the vanilla anvil was ever announced.
Further edit: Will you be coming up with other blades to go with the handle? It's certainly a system you could do a lot with.
The entire weapon system was designed so that we could easily add new weapons in the future. As for your specific question? We will almost certainly be adding new blades. Handles too. Although at this point I don't know if we will be confining the blades/handles system to the aruvals or expanding it to include other weapons as well.

Huh. well, ranged weapons... A bonemerang, I think I suggested already... Crossbow? Call it the crossbone? a bone slingshot? Bone javelins? Some kind of bone cannon that fires obsidian cannonballs? Tons of ideas out there. Ooh, or a revolver! You can include an ivory grip, give it bullets with a mix of gold and bonemeal or something to damage undead more.

Well... not really that the bones didn't flex like wood, it was the limbs on the bow were backwards so you would most likely pinch the arrow between the limbs at full draw because of the way they flexed.

Hah, that made me laugh. I might actually consider doing something like that. Good idea.
We were actually planning on adding atlatls for a long time but I cut those when I came back because they were giving me a lot of trouble.
Well we used the Forge for 1.4.6 not 1.4.7 so that could possibly be whats wrong, although I've told Five about this and we will see what he has to say.
Build 6.6.0.497: 2013-01-01 22:26:53 for MC: 1.4.7
Your mod crashes with version 6.60 of Minecraft Forge, all the other mods work well.
BoneCraft is currently only updated for Minecraft 1.4.6 / Forge 6.5.0 and so I can't account for it not working on other versions.
I wasn't aware that the 1.4.7 prerelease was out (I don't really keep up with the latest minecraft news), but I'll see about updating it now.
There's nary a sword in sight.
I find this very funny for some odd reason...

Nice job guys, I really enjoy using this mod.
