i'll explain the situation. me and my buddy just started a server for us today, it took us a while to figure it out and its cool, but is very glithcy and it lags a lot. neither one of us have very good pc's so maybe thats the problem.
my question is: can i pay for some kind of "premium" server that runs well and won't mess up all the time? if so, where and how much will it cost?
i've been searching for a while now and can't seem to find a good answer so i came here. thanks for any help i get and please be as detailed as possible in your answer if its not too much trouble. we're both new to this and it took us over an hour just to figure out how to set up one in the first place if that gives you any idea how un-educated at this stuff we are. thanks again.

You could pay for a host who will run the server with you, in which you can pay for each slot. This is the simplest method and can be found on websites such as :
http://servercraft.co/
http://www.minecraftserverhost.net/
Or you can generally google it.

There are companies that host servers for you in remote locations usually for a monthly fee. I was planning on founding a server with the possibility of merging with another one via WorldEdit if it ever came down to finding a suitable server and players. The servers idea is that of the start of the world, we live through the dark ages, the light ages, the middle ages, the beginning ages, the end ages, etc. and explore the technology in between. I have a long list of mods that definitely fit the bill. If you and your friend are interested in paying, I would be interested in helping you pay. More importantly, depending on how much you play, we need to find others, maybe 1 or 3 more, to help fill out some space and whatnot. I am always open to a quiet server but I tend to play many hours a day.
