Welcome to the City of Tarkik!

A city based on Medieval Byzantium and Istanbul, Tarkik is a smorgsabord of a variety of cultures. Think of the New York of the Medieval Ages! It's being worked on under Project Targa, a upcoming, epic RP server with all sorts of goodies that I can't disclose here. However, expect a huge handcrafted custom made world, with big cities, interesting terrain, epic lore, magic, and awesome RP. Expect one of the best, accurate (aside from a bit of magic, mobs and lore) and interesting RP server to hit you soon!

The Merchant District
Home of the traders of Tarkik, the Merchant District features a variety of smaller shops and residental areas surrounding the grand palace of the Prince. A few of the shops and accommodation are available to see!

Kuvvet Square
A popular gathering ground in the Merchant District, Kuvvet Square leds to Ummaki Way.

Ummaki Way
A path home to many shops and interesting services, Ummaki Way is frequently traveled for its accomdations and fair pricing. Be warned however, as through the gates lie the slums of the Wrot, a lawless society of thieves and beggars.

The Wrot
I'd keep my sword on me if I were to walk into the Wrot. Run by thieves, corrupt merchants, and no-goodiers, the people of the Wrot struggle to get by. Crime is committed often and unfortunately the area is neglected. Perhaps through roleplay a reformation will sweep through the Wrot, or it will succumb to the dark taint of corruption...

Odd ruins which lie on the outskirts of the city. Rumor is they lead to dark, damp catacombs home to criminals and ruffians. Most people stay clear.

The Catacombs
The secret lair and meeting group of many dark guilds and groups in Tarkik, the Catacombs are ancient burial grounds of the barbarian warriors which later formed the Tarkik state. Be careful down there!

More screenies will be posted soon! The main architect behind the city is the brilliant Cirdanoth, a friend of mine and one of the staff on Project Targa. Many other members of Project Targa helped out too, so thanks to them too!

Interested in joining Project Targa? Fill out an app on this link, and we'll conduct an interview after seeing your screenshots or creditentals and give you a verdict! Be warned, we expect the best, or those willing to learn and train under the best!

Wow! This is amazing! I have never seen this style before, but it looks really cool!

Posted 14 February 2012 - 04:55 AM

This is awesome. I love the style and all the claustrophobic streets. Superb work, honestly. You should be proud.

Glad you guys enjoy it!

Right now we are looking for criticisms or anyone interested in helping out in the project. So if you consider yourself a good builder, feel free to leave ideas or ways to improve, or even sign up and help out directly!

I'll post an update within the next week, once we get more work done. Considering we only have 1-3 people working on, it takes us a while to update. People willing to help out would be awesome.

Beautiful. I love the way you made the streets very busy. Very atmospherical.
Medieval builder and texture artists. Also totally awesome.

Posted 26 February 2012 - 04:19 AM

Thanks guys!

We still need builders. :P

Project Targa is splitting off from Civrp.
We'll be working on a server of our own, following the ideals we believe in, and want to offer to our players.
Tarrik will be integrated into this server, though it'll likely have minor changes to it.

While this thread will still be checked for applicants, we will shift to this one and check it more frequently.

Unfortunately, the current city of Tarkik was ravaged in an unfortunate accident. We will be remaking it on Project Targa, though it will be postponed a bit in lieu of something a bit different. Apply to find out :D

Interest in RP and Experience in Roleplaying: I play civilization and other games like that. I've played on a bunch of RP servers before. I love there's more of a purposeinst of just building a house.
Building Experience: Well I'm pretty good at medieval RP buildings and stuff like that not like a giant swan statue.
Building Screenshots/Proof of work: Sorry my computer got hacke I lost my game saves.
Are you willing to have your work totally revamped if it does not fit the server theme?: Yes whatever makes the server as awesome and legit as possible!
Will you be offended if your work is editted or removed?: Nah I'm still trying to learn to be better and better.
Are you willing to have fun and be part of a grand Medieval RP Server?: Who wouldn't!?
Extra: I got FRAPS I could do some of the publicity and I'm a good community man and Ideas. The best way to connect with me would be on PMC which I'm on daily as TwebDude

Is this still going?

Minecraft Name: Bipolar_Juice
Time Zone: +8:00 GMT/UTC
Interest in RP and Experience in Role Playing: I am very keen on the Medieval period and Minecraft is one of the best mediums for roleplaying it. As for my experience in RP you have seen it yourself (but you weren't around for my finest RP on CivRP as far as I can remember).
Building Experience: You've seen it.
Building Screenshots/Proof of work: You've seen it.
Are you willing to have your work totally revamped if it does not fit the server theme?: Absolutely. I'm known to destroy my own work if it doesn't meet my own expectations.
Will you be offended if your work is edited or removed?: Not really, there would be some understandable circumstances why I could be offended or angered though.
Are you willing to have fun and be part of a grand Medieval RP Server?: I've been looking for one and despite its small size CivRP (which I guess is sort of a precursor to this) was the best RP experience I had

Couple of questions: Is Styker still with you guys?
And which version of MC are you using?

Put your FOV down when you take screenshots. It looks kind of funky.
