About 27 blocks would kill them, so I'm guessing half a heart would be 20-22.

Fall damage formula : fall distance-3
Enderman's health : 40(20hearts)
so enderman can survive 42meter

If Steve falls 22 blocks with no armour he will die. I believe Enderman have around 40 hearts so do the math from there. :/

Would anybody like me to test this out?

Too late, I tested this out.

I built a 2x2 hole in the ground and changed it until the Endermen ended up with (har har) the lowest amount of health they can get.

A drop of 43 blocks will damn near kill an Enderman, but you can kill him in one hit with your fists.
My parkour map. Do you have the skill?

I'm pretty sure the ender-ender in my world is a drop of 43 blocks.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's 43 blocks according to one of the Mindcrack users to either kill it, or drop it to half a heart.

That's the accurate number.

43 blocks is the max fall. Use vines to reset their fall height. docm's ender farm tutorial covers all that.

1 block is equal to approximately 1 meter3, so sks is correct ^^

I recently built a couple of endermen farms and I believe I did 42 with a half slab on bottom or maybe 43 with the half slab to make it 42.5. 22 works for skele's and zombies, but you won't be able to one shot an enderman if they fall that far.

Does it look like we have bees in vanilla? Although that would be pretty cool and op.

Also quick question is the fall damage formula in hearts or half hearts as in 1 for one heart or 1 for a half heart thats the thing thats been confusing me.

The fall damage formula is in half-heart "points":
Damage = Fall Height - 3

Enderman have 20 hearts, or 40 points, of health.  Therefore, a fall of 43 blocks should be fatal (43 - 3 = 40).  But, like with other mobs, and even players, for some unexplained reason, the final block doesn't do them in.  Endermen will be left with half a heart after dropping either 42 or 43 blocks, and 44 are actually required to be fatal.  Likewise, players, skeletons, and other ten-heart mobs will be left at half a heart after 22 or 23 blocks.  23 should be fatal, but it's not.  No one seems to know why, but at least it's reliably consistent.
Village Mechanics: A not-so-brief guide - Update for 1.4! Added subsection on iron farming to the iron golems section. Only ten villagers required to spawn golems (down from sixteen)! Put to rest the "facing doors cancel each other" myth!

Thats really strange actually i found the same exact thing out in a creative test world a while back, but it never came back that mobs are one hit on both those height til now. I'll try to find out why might be due to a resistance effect in the code not sure how it exactly works but yeah. Also thanks but i got the answer in a different thread as well.
