Thanks to Crunchie_Nut for helping me solve the bugs in the 1.4.5 version.

This Mod makes minecraft's Hardcore Mode look like a walk in the park. When you take damage and loose a heart you can't just regain it back from a full hunger bar, it wont work. The only way to get your hearts back is to craft a Golden Apple or Health Potion.

OK this Mod disables health regain even when your hunger bar is full. The only way too get them back is to craft a Golden Apple or Health Potion. But this is now harder since the crafting recipes for them have been changed so you will need more gold to craft them. A Golden apple has to be surrounded by Gold Ingots not Nuggets and a Glistering melon has to have a Melon and a Gold Block. See the video below to see the update.

For people who want more danger in there game this add-on pack is for you. It adds a few new things to the game that will really test you survival skills. Here are the things added with this pack:

• Fire has never been more dangerous. Rapid fire spreading and more destructive attributes. Even grass blocks will be burned away!
  
• Tree Generation has been drastically reduced. Why not grow one?
  
• Creepers feel bit.. "blue"? I will let you figure that one out.

Added For 1.2.4
Ghasts no longer drop ghast tears. Instead they drop a Gold Ingot. This makes it impossible to make a regeneration potion but helps you to get gold.



Information to know!!
This Mod edits minecraft base classes so it may not work with some Mods. I suggest that you make a backup before installing, just in case.

If using this on a server you must have both the server and client side of the Mod installed for it to work properly.

How to install



Client
==============
First delete the META-INF folder in your minecraft.jar.
Next just simply drag the class files into your minecraft.jar.
It's that simple.

Server
==============
Drag the class files into the minecraft_server.jar
Do Not Delete the META-INF folder in the minecraft_server.jar

Want To See This Mod In Action?
Members of the Mindcrack server have used this Mod in the popular 'Ultra Hardcore' series. In seasons 1 & 2 only 4 of members from the server were involved. There goal was to work together and kill the dragon. In the latest season, 8 members of the server all jumped into a custom world and they were all on there own. No team work. They went lone wolf and if they saw another player they would try to kill  them.

I think this is an awesome mod, however I think it could be made even better.

Config file that allows you to use nuggets, ingots, or blocks for either recipe. You want to force ingots for the melons and the old block recipe for apples, you have your wish. Want the new nugget recipe for apples and blocks for melons, you can have that.

A way to change the healing factor the apple can give (the current nerfed version or the OP version the old one had).

A toggle to hide the food bar, just to make it that much more interesting, you won't know your hunger is low until you try to sprint and can't, or when you start taking starvation damage because you haven't eaten.

A toggle so if you want to still regen health because you don't actually want full on hardcore mode, but you do want to make golden apples and healing potions harder to get.

Just throwing out a few ideas after reading the premise of this mod.

No you respawn, but you can put it on Hardcore mode when you set up a world. That's if your up for that challenge!
