Okay, I customized an HP Pavilion online. These are the specs:
Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
2nd generation Intel® Core™ i7-2670QM (2.2 GHz, 6MB L3 Cache) with Turbo Boost up to 3.1 GHz
2GB AMD Radeon™ HD 7690M GDDR5 Discrete Graphics™ [HDMI, VGA]
8GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
750GB 7200 rpm Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection
Microsoft® Office Starter: reduced-functionality Word/Excel® only, No PowerPoint®/Outlook®
No additional security software
6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
15.6" Full HD HP Anti-glare LED (1920 x 1080)
FREE UPGRADE to Blu-ray player & SuperMulti DVD burner
HP TrueVision HD Webcam with Integrated Digital Microphone and HP SimplePass Fingerprint Reader
802.11b/g/n WLAN
Standard Keyboard with numeric keypad

I was going to buy that, but I found an Asus g74 for a similar price. The specs are:
Intel i7 quad
12 gb ram
500 gb 7200rpm hard drive
17" display
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M GPU with 3GB of GDDR5 VRAM (The main reason I wanted to buy this one)

What do you guys think? I'm really thinking the g74 is the way to go, but you never know.

Changed my avatar because I got tired of the old one.

What exactly are you using it for?

What are the prices?

They are both overpriced to hell and back and you really cannot use laptops for gaming. It would be best to build your own desktop.

Thanks for the help but the reason I want a laptop is to take places while I travel this summer.

I payed 360 dollars for my Toshiba with a AMD a6 core, it plays Minecraft beautifully on normal settings, and also does everything else fast. The AMD cores are better for gaming.

Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong. An AMD processor may work for gaming, but Intel processors are far superior.

little education, the AMD APUs are far far far far far far far better then any of intels integrated graphics, and the a8 is about 15x more powerful graphics wise, and this is a laptop, amd id dominating the laptop apu market, they simply cannot be beat for their price

ehh.. i didn't mean to come across that harsh :P just those APUs are incredible, the i3s score higher performance wise by a bit but for graphics....just ew :P

they trade off back and forth, except for gaming lol
