In a most peculiar timing, as most of Mojang is on airplanes flying to Vegas for MineCon, we've found that Minecraft: PE has been released for iOS. Whether or not this was intentional time will only tell, but for now, go and swipe it up for a cool $9.99 $6.99. (The original price was listed from Apple's New Zealand store, the US price is $6.99).
It would seem that goodwill between Skyrim developer Bethesda and Mojang's Notch continues despite recent tensions with Bethesda's publishing company. While not directly confirmed, it is suspected that the Notched Pickaxe (seen above) is a quiet homage to the indie developer. The Bethesda team are known to be avid Minecraft fans, playing the game in their spare time, even during development of Skyrim. Of note, the pickaxe even resembles the titular item from Minecraft in its design, although with a much higher-resolution texture pack. Does this mean a similar inclusion of a Skyrim-themed easter egg may pop up in future Minecraft updates? Only time will tell!

It's finally here. The week that so many of us have waited for so long for. Minecon, and the release of 1.0. There's a ton of things happening this week, and Bebop Vox of Minecraft Monday's has it all covered in today's episode!
shakeandbake delivered this week's winner of the WCC Steampunk Mod! It boasts a large number of features, including a sensible, diverse assortment of minerals at materials, and a number of innovative new items such as perspective-altering goggles, improved glass-cased torches and more. The clear show-stealer of the mod, however, is undoubtedly the steam tank! Designed to allow for tunneling during movement, the steam tank provides a highly entertaining new mode of transportation and mining, and is supremely suited for tunnel-digging operations in mountains, caves, mines and more.
Want to try this mod out for yourself? Get it right here! Note, you will need Mod Loader to make this work with your game, so pick it up too, if you haven't. Congratulations to shakeandbake, and all of our entrants this week! If you'd like to check out other entrants' mods (and there are a lot of good ones!), drop by over here and peruse the numerous entries.

Just look at that face!
This glowing companion also comes with a diamond block, but anyone picking this little guy up shouldn't try to mine it with a pickaxe. If you're attending the con, feel free to swing by J!NX's booth and grab a glowie creeper of your very own! There's only 500 of the little guys though, so if you're there, be sure to grab yours quickly.

As we've mentioned before, we're very excited to be attending Minecon this year! Now, we'd like to give you some inside details about how the Scavenger Hunt is going down!
The scavenger hunt will work like this:
All Minecon attendees will receive a Diamond Deposit Flyer in their attendee bags (you can also pick up a flyer from one of the partners if you lose yours, but just note, we will only allow one entry per person).
Attendees need to take their flyer to each of the partners booths and perform an interaction there to receive a diamond sticker. For example, at the Curse booth we will ask you to make a comment about your Minecon experience at the Minecraft Forum Exchange station.
Once you have collected a diamond sticker from each of the partners return to the Curse booth and deposit your completed Diamond Flyer in the Curse Bank.
Around 3:15 pm on Saturday Notch will be at the Curse booth to draw the winning flyers from the Curse Bank.
All the prizes for the scavenger hunt will be on display at the Curse booth, so come on by and check out all the cool stuff you can win. Curse and our partners are giving away some SERIOUS loot, so you won't want to miss your chance to enter this one.
Still, what to do if you're not able to make it to Minecon this year? No worries, we've got you covered! When Minecon starts on November 18th, Curse is going to open a US Premium sweepstakes on our homepage where one lucky entrant will win a sweet custom Minecraft-themed Xbox 360 for themselves.
So, get signed up and enter for your chance to win!
Finally, we've also made a 3rd Minecraft-themed xbox for one very special kid. On Saturday during Minecon, Mojang is throwing a VIP charity lunch to benefit the Make-a-Wish Foundation. At the event, Curse will be giving one of these Xboxes to a Make-a-Wish youngster who is a huge Minecraft fan, and whose wish it is to attend Minecon. Mojang and Curse are working together to ensure they have the most amazing Minecon experience imaginable!
We're very excited to be attending Minecon, and look forward to seeing all of you there, whether in person or right here on Minecraft Forums!
