HOW TO UPDATE:
You can update in the Minecraft launcher as normal, no need to download extra files! Server owners will want to download the following jar for their servers: Click here
Have fun, and good luck!
Ran it on amplified last night with zero issue. Perhaps it's your computer?
Login servers could have been down when you tried to login. Etc Etc Etc. You aren't really giving anyone any information to go off here, not to mention posting in an update thread, instead of starting a support thread...where you'll get more support.
More RAM is a start. And would probably fix a majority of those with 'lag' issues in this thread.
Also, don't rush to get all your mods back on. The update just came out, give it a few days to settle before trying to load all your old mods. Make sure Windows isn't doing updates. Make sure programs are turned off. Etc.
I updated last night to 1.7.2, started an Amplified world, and had absolutely zero issues. No lag, no nothing. And I'm usually using Optifine because of that same lag you're talking about.
Wow.. I haven't experienced a drop in fps since updating. Maybe post a topic in support and someone might be able to help:

That's dumb, what about clay?
Anyway, it is unreal how many bugs are in the update. I wish they'd waited a couple of weeks to sort em out
I think that was replaced by the Mesa biomes - if you can find them.
Of course if you want to make brick you still need clay which is found in the "rivers" and small lakes.
I was thinking more like giant squid since the model and behavior already exist.
It would be nice if squid could be harvested for food.
Also, regarding the villagers: fixing their AI so they don't run around in a panic or try to cram themselves into one house.
For kicks create a superflat world in creative, spawn about 100 villagers, make a door about 20 blocks from them, then place two blocks on top (one over the door and then one joining that block so that you have two over the door - thus making a simple house). Then switch to night. The sudden surge of running panic stricken villagers trying to crowd into that one door is hilarious and illustrates the poor AI.
Also it would seem that the algorithm should only place villages in relatively flat places - the prior post I made showing part of the village in the amplified world high atop the mountain should never happen (plus it creates hideous chunks of dirt under the elevated farms). Although in a way it did remind me of the "Warning Beacons of Gondor"
Besides that I'm looking forward to it.
Sorry, but we couldn't connect to our server
Pleas make sure that you're online and that you minecraft is not block.
-----
But my minecraft is not block in firewall
and idk if am online or not.

Can somebody help me pls
Hmm, yes, this does sound like a technical problem. I don't know if other people have had similar problems, but if they had, then they should be working on the issue right now. Which is good, because if the next release is 1.8, then that's more of a reason for you to look forward to 1.8.
I think you're being generous. He should probably just stop breathing entirely. :V
So much crying and obvious 11 year olds who only managed to crack their game in the first place through pure luck can't derp their way to a new version in this thread. It's a 25 dollar game that's constantly being updated and has more free mods than you really need. None of you are entitled to anything.
yeeeeessss! More plants. more plants. more plants. more plants. And colored glass!!!
That has nothing to do with Mojang, and everything to do with Bukkit. The servers have to be on the same version as you, or you won't be able to connect.
Rare sea monsters (Its a real pain when you are just starting and the water is not safe)
fish mob
Mobs should be able to pick up dropped items (Sheep pick up and eat wheat, wild wolfs should take drooped meat)
Seriously, it was a bit rushed.
Also I want a 1.7.3 patch update, like, rytnao, so I can say I played from (Beta) 1.7.3 to 1.7.3.
Instead, I'll say that more than one world has been changed in this update. Sure, there's the world gen changes, but that only affects survival people. The early snapshot changes are what totally revolutionized how maps will be made for mapmakers, and that's worth it in itself.
Exactly, and some things that go under the hood are new commands. Which I get very excited about considering this means that Adventure maps are going to get alot more advanced.
