DID YOU FIND A BUG INSTEAD OF A NEW FEATURE?

No, they were called flowers. As for the forests, there are both Spruce and Birch forests.
What seed!!
also another biome stone beach. and now after a certain world height rain will turn to snow, not positive on this one will someone else go to the top of an extreme hills biome and turn the rain on to see if it transitions to rain and snow after a certain block height? it seems this only works in extreme hills allowing for snow covered mountains
also it seems as if sugar cane has 2 different colors now
that's all i could find for now
Even the old biomes have a lot of new stuff. Swamps are more swampy with lot more smaller water pools.. no more boat shortcuts through swamp areas. But they also can have some low hills and cliff features too, even without any amplification (which is way too over the top, looks great without it)
However ALL previous map seed will be useless... No more 'punchwood island' (Seed: "punchwood.com") for example.
You do still start in a forest, but there all similarities end. Small Ocean to north (all oceans are smaller), plains (with sunflowers) to south. Roofed Forest to West.
BUT really... no island!
If you want to see some swampland go North east from spawn point, across the stony snowcapped mountains. This swamp even has a large lava pool.
Not certain I like that all the ocean floors are not just gravel. Oceans are now VERY boring! Clay mining is also going to be a lot harder, and gravel will tend to fill in any underwater cave entrenches, if you can even see them with the darkness!
UPDATE:
It does not rain in savana!
Also if you fly (creative) or piller up high, rain turns to snow!
I'm am dumbfounded...
Oh, they'll still have crap to complain about! They will!!! They'll show you...they'll show you ALL!
Mwa ha ha haaa!!!
Ahem, anyway...I really like this snapshot! There's so much good to talk about, that I can only bother with the negatives.
Though,Mojang should add some mobs too.
I am going to have to come up with textures for a few new things, but that's not a problem.
Have you tried this snapshot? I've a 4+ years old quadcore cpu (Intel Q9550) and got a massive boost in fps.
Before it was around 45-90-ish. Now it's more common to be in the 150+ area.
Oh come on, it doesn't that bad.
most people don't want to go through 28 pages to find out if someone wrote something
