Minecraft Hits 11 Million (PC) Sales, and Counting!
That's right, the PC version of Minecraft has surpassed 11 million sales! Minecraft as a game continues to have a phenomenal level of success, with humble beginnings in the hands of Mojang founding member Markus "Notch" Persson, and growing over a period of years into one of the most successful indie game titles in gaming history, spanning PC, console, and handheld systems in record numbers. In addition, the recent changes to Minecraft in 1.5 - and future changes planned the game, including horses, a revamped game structure for easier modding and better performance, and many different and exciting new items - Mojang continues to push the game to new heights, even as they get involved in the community, with everything from direct-feedback bug fixing to real-life renewal projects.
Pocket Edition surpassed 10 million sales in late April, and is hot on the heels of the PC behemoth, and MCX360 isn't far behind with well over 6 million sales. Congratulations, Mojang!
Nosy "Aw, lad" or Minecraft farce? Nimrod always on.
Congratulations! There'll be a better one at 15 million. (That should give me time to come up with it.)
This game isn't revolutionary and it has been stealing the spotlight for too long, more people need to buy overgrowth and show Wolfire some support.
That's just a test to see if 1.6 is released. When 1.6 is released, Mojang will put "1_6_has_been_released.flag" on the MC website, then the launcher knows when to update.
Congrats Mojang, you've come a long way since I joined in 1.7!
Y'know, 1.7- and 1.8+ are like two entirely different games. I'm glad I saved my 1.7.3 jar, even though I love the new updates too.
This game is nothing like minecraft so why even compare it? I went to the site at LEAST expecting something at kinda like minecraft...
Wow. I started playing this game in it's early stages, never expecting it to get this big. Congrats mojang, great job.
I'm just saying, but Roblox was made in 2005, 4 years before Minecraft. Roblox sucks now....

How where those the good ol' days? Blaze rods first appeared in minecraft in the first 1.9 pre release, which was on September 22, 2011. Minecraft was released on May 17, 2009. Well, the time in between now and 2011 has been a year and a bit (a long time), but the 1.9 pre release certainly wasn't around when minecraft was still in its beginning.
