Bigger worlds! More players! Blocks!
Minecraft was confirmed for the Xbox One yesterday at E3, spear-headed by 360 veterans 4J Studios. Currently, much of what MCX1 will bring to the table is being kept quiet, but behind-the-scenes discussions are, to say the very least, very promising indeed!
Minecraft began on PC, moving first to the Xbox 360, then to portable devices (iOS, Android), spanning well over 20 million players across the board. With their foray into the next-gen Xbox console, it is expected that even more players will join the best gaming community ever, and discover what the rest of us already know: that Minecraft is one of the most awesome games ever!
Details for MCX1 will be revealed in the coming days, so keep your ears to the ground as we bring you all the latest news!

Agreed, and I'll clarify too:
You mean the choice of Java? It's problematic, but it doesn't drastically kill any kind of playerbase or performance. If you mean the code that's been used and poor optimization (such as the game being a resource hog), you've clearly missed the many, many optimizations made lately and have missed the upcoming ability to control how much memory Minecraft uses from the new launcher (and even save it to a profile so you can switch between them).
This one's just ridiculous, how on earth is Mojang poorly managed?
Haven't updated since 1.7 beta I see, as particularly in 1.8 beta and 1.5 release there were numerous additions which added uncountable cool new things that can be built. Or perhaps you want to say something like isn't amazing.
Yesterday I just installed Forge and with it, Traincraft and was able to seamlessly switch between that mod and the latest vanilla snapshot using the new launcher. Your argument is invalid.
Isn't Microsoft's contract running out soon? I read a post by Jeb that said when the contract runs out, they will highly consider other consoles. I would like to play MC on a console, but not on that -box one. I was going to decide at E3, and I decided PS4. So I hope they will make a PS4 version. Mojang will get more money that way.
This won't make people buy this piece of .
Contracts run out.
No, most likely, people (If they are not the 100 fan boys that will die for Microsoft) will get the PS4.
I'm a little fuzzy on the ways that contracts work, but can they work on MC for other systems and just not release info to the public? So when the contract expires, they will already have the game developed/ported.
Yeah, but I'm sure once the contract with Microfsoft runs out, the contract will come barreling right back into the Mojang office to be renewed.
With all the hate the Xbox One is receiving, I hope they will take their chance and not renew it.
That's good to hear. I'd really love to see how this game does on both the Xbox One and PS4. Also considering the fact that Sony may have this generation in the bag already, Minecraft would flourish on the PS4 and lots of Playstation gamers would get to see what the fuss is about.
Sorry, but I don't see barely ANYONE who wants this
Have no clue why anyone would play it on the Xbox. That of course is unless they don't have a computer that can handle Minecraft......which they should, since we are in 2013 now!
Err....
We are talking about the
XBONEXbox ONE (from 2013), not Xbox 1 (from 2001).THAT is a seriously serious pun.
Again, as you can pSee, the Xbone is not receiving the best of recognition.
I hope their contract expires soon and they're smart enough not to renew it.
