Minecraft on the Oculus Rift
Youtuber Vaecon takes us on a walk through Minecraft using the Oculus Rift, and some tweaking by Jademalo. Give it a look!
Do you have a Rift, and want to try this out for yourself? Jademalo explains how to set it up right here. Enjoy!
The dev version i think is $275. correct me if im wrong though. The consumer version is expected to be out in like 2014.
Just... HOLY LICH LORD !!! That is so, awesome !
I do support the work put into it, though. I can only wonder what may come next.
Yeah, in that sense, that's why it's certainly cool. But I think I'm too used to monitors being used for games and similar forms of entertainment, while the whole immersive view is more so reserved for outside activities. Maybe I'm just too afraid of being sick with this sort of view, just like with 3D, though. I'll see if I ever get to try one out in person.
Yeah, i think monitors are for games, and the whole immersive view is for your eyes.
that is exactly what i was thinking. if the minecraft rift starting version came with super hd shaders and smart moving mod i wouldn't be able to tell if life or minecraft was real.
1.) It only looks shaky to us because his head is shaking, where as the screen isn't. When you sit still, it doesn't appear as if your head is shaking, but it actually shakes just as much as his. Also, when wearing the actual goggles, I'd assume that since it follows your head motions, it acts as if it isn't shaking.
Also, how is it blurry in any way? Try turning the video off of 240p.
2.) I might agree, It may be slightly harder to use, but I'd assume it's on a very small scale.
3.) What's the useless gimmick that everyone got tired of a year ago and slapped on? The fact that you can SEE your BODY? OMG! I'M LOOKING DOWN AND I CAN SEE MY BODY! GOD, HOW STUPID IS THAT?
