That's right, the PC version of Minecraft has surpassed 10 million sales! Minecraft as a game continues to have a phenomenal level of success, with humble beginnings in the hands of Mojang founding member Markus "Notch" Persson, and growing over a period of years into one of the most successful indie game titles in gaming history, spanning PC, console, and handheld systems in record numbers. In addition, the recent changes to Minecraft in 1.5 - and future changes planned the game, including Mod API support, more adventure map options, and all sorts of customization options - Mojang continues to push the game to new heights, even as they get involved in the community, with everything from direct-feedback bug fixing to real-life renewal projects. With the recent TU9 update, MCX360 is hot on the PC version's heels, even as it introduces special goodies unique to XBLA gamers.
As promised by Jeb, a secret was revealed about 1.6, a feature many were looking forward to! What feature? Well...
Spoiler: It isn't pink withers!
yes! Yes! YES!
For example, the Redstone update could have been comprised of mods like Redpower or something....
I don't work for Mojang so I am leery to speak for them, but have you truly never ever taken an action, saw the result, and then CHANGED YOUR MIND?
Riding pigs is stupid. It always has been a stupid novelty that nobody does once they've tried it once or twice. Maybe, MAYBE on some servers they set up pig races or something but I bet even those stopped being fun after 2 or 3 times.
If you are an exception to this, please post pictures and/or videos of your wonderful pig stalls and roads designed for quick pig travel, and maybe a little snippet of video of people on your server using pigs far more often than minecarts or even walking.
They could fix pigs. They could remove the carrot-on-a-stick and let you control them with the keyboard. I don't know why they didn't. They instead chose to add horses. I'm cool with this and have no problem ignoring pigs as a mount, the way I do now.
It doesn't work that way.
Holy . MO CREATURES!?
do you even imagine how much and how minecraft is played all over the world? This is not a regular mmorpg, this one of the most free and open games of this generation and you have no Idea how many people are using the features they're adding. And in about redstone stuff, the idea itself that sensors and trapped chests are silly and useless just makes me and many other players laugh.
I think they'll have to
And for everyone else who wants a pink Wither that badly, go retexture it to pink. PROBLEM SOLVED! I AM A GENIUS!
If they are tamable, it would probably be by apples. Horses liking carrots is another common thing, but pigs have that front covered as they like carrots.
On another note, I had a cool idea for a weapon specifically made for use on horseback: A lance. Think about it, you charge a mob without worrying about pressing any kind of button, just the force of your speed defeating any kind of mob(or other player) Let me know if you think this is a bad idea.
(Cannot wait for the update! When does it come out? I heard May possibly..?)
No, it's been confirmed that they are adding horses. Jeb posted this screenshot showing a horse in-game:
