A bit of a deviation from the usual Snapshot, this one is an early look at 1.5.1 - which contains a number of fixes and tweaks for 1.5 - before its release next week. What does it have?
- Ender Dragon can still grief stuff like cobblestone and chests even if the gamerule mobGriefing is set on false.
- White stitching on polygon edges / White lines or black dots between blocks
- Unable to combine enchanted books for a higher level enchant.
- Hopper doesn't try to place items from other slots if unable from first.
- Fire doesn't show on 8 layered snow and hopper
- Long scoreboard objective titles can be offset screen
- Breaking a Container with Items that is connected via a solid block with a Comparator does not update the Comparator
- Falling Block entities start visually falling from 1 block higher than they were placed
- Paintings popping out / cannot place new ones
- a few Minecraft Realms changes
Oh god, not this again.
*Its my Favourite thing! Don't start sending me annoying Messages about it.*
How is it a bad snapshot? It is all bug fixes. The Enderdragon is NOT supposed to do those things when the gamerule is effective. Hence, that is why they fixed it.
I agree! PS:i'm Herobrine
No, if you stop to read, all of those things listed are the bugs, and they fixed them, so the enderdragon DOESN'T do that anymore. >.>
and whats the deal with blocks lighting up when you hit them?
You guys just can't catch a break lol
Texture packs weren't removed, they were moved to the pause screen. This forum should have an age limit.
Where the heck have you been? The Ender Dragon ALWAYS did that since the first time he came about. Don't blame the snapshot.
West about 400 blocks is a small island with three trees and sugar cane
You're hilarious.
So some guys making a performance-enhancing mod for Minecraft are at fault because they don't hand their work over to Mojang. Apparently they hold special keys to optimizing Java code that is just somehow inaccessible to people at Mojang.
How about Mojang codes it properly in the first place? How about putting the responsibility of making Minecraft run correctly on the heads of the people making it and profiting off of it? Good god.
The state of Minecraft right now is inexcusable. These updates should have never been released. And I'm not just talking about 1.5. Basically all the updates in the past half-year have hacked away at the framerate, and it's like Mojang doesn't care at all. FPS has been slightly worse, slightly worse still, and now with 1.5 it's terribly worse. We shouldn't need quad-core and 8 gigs of RAM just to run a pixelated block world. And even then to run it poorly. Pitiful.
Thanks
if you say you are good with coding then send in your resume to Mojang. they would love to have you if you know whats best for the game.
After I read this, I went back and looked at the original post. You're right, and that definitely gave me a good laugh.
Exactly. So even the pathetic "blah blah code it yourself" argument we always see, when anyone raises any complaints about any game or program, falls apart. Because it's been done. It's called Optifine. Many people run Optifine because of the massively improved framerate and other options it offers. That means there's no excuse for 6 months of declining frame rates which have now fallen off a cliff.
This is probably true. Mojang should buy a couple $150 computers on craigslist and add them to their testbed. Maybe if they see how the average person is running the game they'd code the game properly. Then again, part of me thinks they're too busy enjoying their millions of $$ to care about anything. That's why we just see "cool features" to perhaps get the attention of new players, rather than efficient code and fps improvement to keep the existing players happy. I've already spent my money so now I don't matter.
