Snapshot Support in the Curse Client, Now Beta Testing & More
__________________________
Ever wanted to test Snapshots, but either couldn't figure out installation, or just decided it was too much work? You're in luck, because we are adding Snapshot support to the Curse Client! Simply click "Get It" beside the Snapshot you'd like to test, and the Client will download that specific version to a separate folder from your release install, allowing for you to test without fear of save corruption! You can switch between any released Snapshot at any time, and can also copy your Worlds over from your release version of Minecraft for even more specialized testing!
In addition, the "My Textures" and "Get More Textures" tabs are available on this install, making texture pack testing a breeze.
The Snapshot feature is currently in beta testing, and can be tested on the test version of the Curse Client, which can be found here. Please note that once testing is done, you will want to go back to using the normal Client. So if you want to help test out Snapshot support, be sure to grab the test Client, and try it out today!
Content Creator Rewards Program
__________________________
Content creators have been uploading their work to bukkit.org for some time now. What if there were a way to get rewards for your uploads to Bukkit? For example, Amazon gift cards, or just straight cash? Turns out you can! Check out the video above for a rundown of the program, plus a walk-through for content creators to redeem their rewards at any time.
do we get points from downloads in general, or only downloads thru Curse client?
The amount of points you get are based off the points pool we have for the month, and how popular your modification is. One point is currently equal to about five cents. You can check out the FAQ here, and we should have it in an easier to read format later on today, as well.
could you give us a small guide on how to get the "Minecraft Snapshot" into the curse client?
So you are basicaly beta-testing a beta-testing feature on a game that is basically in permanent beta-test?
sorry, couldn't, resist
If I had intended to say "plugin developer", I would have. Many other types of content can be uploaded to Bukkit, not just plugins. As for maps, well...all I can say is, keep an ear to the ground.
I agree with that but for other people it will be GREAT!
So True you say it to him
Thanks for enlightening me. I was under the impression that bukkit.org only allowed its users to submit plugins. Sorry if my post seemed disrespectful I support the program however I was confused as to how the program would work for the other types of contact creators.
Thanks for clearing that up.
Are you downloading the Test Client from here, without the regular live version of the Client running?
If you're running the test Client and are unable to select the snapshots, could you please click Help -> Open Client Log file, and copy/paste the contents into an email, as well as a description of the issue, to [email protected]? Our developers can use that to see what's up!
