So, what's new in the pre-release?
- Another 20 or so issues fixed
- Fixed the “unable to swim upwards” bug (prevented a 1.4.3 official release)
- Fixed the “placed torches jump between walls” bug (also prevented a 1.4.3 release)

It's Survey Time!
You can play Minecraft on a heap of different platforms: PC, Mac, iOS, Android, and Xbox 360. Phew. But how do you play Minecraft? And, more importantly, what do you think Notch hides under his hat?
Mojang wants your feedback, and now have a survey up! Suggest a new mob, pick your favorite food, and tell Mojang all about how you play Minecraft!

I had an excellent idea for a new mob i'm keeping it a secret
Let's not start making mobs that goes against common game logic.
Did you even read this?
you must be joking, they can't even manage to spawn half a dozen standard mobs properly.
Mo'Creatures does 75% of all of those perfectly fine.
Are you kidding me? The Bug Tracker is one of the best things to come to Minecraft. All sorts of horrendous glitches are being removed. They're saving their new features for actual NEW updates, i.e. 1.5.
we are talking about mojang here not competent modders. I don't get it either, for some reason modders can implement functioning mobs with ease in their spare time, that aren't swimming through the ground or refusing to spawn without loading kilometers worth of chunks, but somehow they are having problems with their own basic mobs.
and at what cost? maybe since you're not the one who has to wade through pages and pages of dupes and false positives, you're not realising what a massive waste of time and resources it can really be.
Not even new content!
We literally just got four new mobs, plus the ability to control pigs. Do you realize how hard it is to create AI for a new mob EVERY update? (like everyone asks for)
Please just be thankful for the work Mojang spends maintaining this game when they could just move on to other games, which from a marketing perspective would likely be more beneficial.
Also, any time you decide to modify ANY game, you have to understand that your work can easily be undone by official updates. If you really want mod stability, I suggest you find a game which is no longer being officially maintained. (Like SW Empire at War for example. It has a pretty big mod community)
This is a pre-release as mods don't work with the files. Note that mods say "1.3.1" or "1.2.5" or whatever version they are for a reason, because that's the latest version they are in. Try TooManyItem, I believe that is the only mod out there for this pre-release.
