Snapshot 12w42a Available For Testing! Early!

Mojang is offering a special treat today - an early Snapshot! 1.4 is due to release next week, and the early Snapshot release allows Mojang more time to get the update as playable and awesome as possible before launch.

Today's Snapshot includes a helping of:

Anvil block has been tweaked (it’s cheaper to create, minor visual changes, and you can repair tools using wood/ingots/diamonds)
Bats no longer trample crops or trigger pressure plates
Redstone repeaters can be “locked” (fixed output) by having a powered repeater connected to its left or right side
Updated language files

More bugfixes & tweaks!

Grab the Snapshot today, and see 1.4 early - it doesn't include all that 1.4 has to offer, but it comes pretty darn close!

I wish anvils could let you do anything with any level on creative. Imagine adventure maps and servers, how helpful that would be.

Edit: I wish there was a way to combine potion enchants, most likely related to the witches.

I'm not so sure about the lockable repeaters, could be pretty annoying at times.
Other than that I'm pretty exited about 1.4

The anvil should not lose durability if used in creative mode.

I can see much better redstone mechanism designs, specifically t flip-flops, with the lockable redstone repeaters.

Nice, I am going to test it.. The next week it will officialy developed?

Nice. This will certainly make things interesting, or at least, it would if my base was anywhere near a swamp or NPC village. the reworked anvil is a nice touch, though.

Hey...wasn't C418 supposed to add more sounds to 1.4? Where are they in this snapshot?? Figuring this is the last snapshot, I don't see that happening!! I was rather looking forward to that!

Blocks affected by gravity (sand, gravel) are no longer "broken" when they hit a halfslab or torch in the new snapshot. Poor fix for sand generators, or a blunder in the phantomblock/efficiency fix?

I hope they fixed the bugs with the anvil, last snapshot I couldn't for the life of me get it to work on enchanted weapons. Also good to hear the new repeater-lock mechanic, this will revolutionize some of my machines!
