Many things have been revealed in recent Snapshots, from a new monster, to decorative stone fences, and the awesome beacon block. Something that's been drawing a lot of attention lately is decorative heads - such as the skeleton, creeper, and zombie - which can be placed like a sign, to gloat over victories achieved in combat. Recently, Dinnerbone posted the picture above, strongly suggesting the possibility of player-dropped heads.
Will they fall in combat? Can they only be added for adventure maps? Time will tell.

Minecraft Weekly News - Pie, Fishing XP & Customized Superflat Worlds!
David and Toby give us the rundown of last week's events, including a solid look at last weeks Snapshot - give it a watch!
Dude,
One: These guys put so much work into it, it's not their fault you don't want these in it, and 'I'm sure these are really going to ruin your world!!'
Two: Two, you never mentioned anything that you 'wanted' as far as I can see. Try that.
Three: I don't see you trying to design a masterpiece of a game right now, do I. I actually find that with Notch not leading the design, it is still going quite good. He made a wise choice with who to trust the job with.
SO Would you please stop complaining about NOTHING...??
Actually I am working on a game, 5months in development so far. Quite good? There have ONLY been aesthetical updates, and about 90% of them are new blocks or mobs. And for the non-aesthetical updates, there have been very few and very minor at that. You cannot deny. I get 20 fps in current versions of Minecraft, yet in older versions my fps on average is 200. Did you read my post? Where I stated that; even if we don't use these features they will still be shoved in our face, for example new biomes and world generation etc. Trust me adding a new block is anything but 'Hard work', defend them all you like by saying that they discuss the outcomes of every update and the effect, then why are they adding player skulls? Is that REALLY necessary.
Why dont you try developing Minecraft? I think the community would LOVE the way you want it done. No updates ever and when they are you just add crappy stuff like guns or something.
I dont even understand what your so freaking mad about. You dont have to update. You dont have to read the forums if you hate everything. You don't even have to play Minecraft. You can go play Assasins Creed or something. Isnt that what all the other 7 year olds are playing these days?
This isnt even an update. This is just telling the community that there might be a possibility of player heads. Why get so mad about it? Are you a head hunter or something and you get offended when people talk about heads? Seriously calm down dude chill....
And Mojang isnt a big company. Just 10 guys developing games. So yeah it is hard to be developing a whole bunch of games at once. Id love to see you try that.
Send me the link to your new game that adds Minecraft copied blocks and mobs please.
Oh and learn your deffinitions. Aesthetical updates are ones that change the game. Content updates are the ones that add new things.
And the updates aren't 'in our face' if you havent noticed when you log on and it says 'Would you like to update?' you can click no and stay on your version. And you dont have to download the snapshots either. In fact you dont even have to read the forums about new updates.
P.S you just got owned
Okay I misunderstoof you about the game part.
But seriously how is a minor change like adding heads make the game so bad? You dont have to use them... Trust me in 5 months time youll think this stuff is normal and the new stuff they add in 5 months time you'll think its not normal. Its because its new now, but it will get old and normal later. So why complain about it when in 5 months time when it feels normal minecraft youll be fine with it.... Are you mad at the pistons or climbing spiders too? That was Jebs idea. It might have felt weird at first but now it feels vanilla.......
Sorry if my previous post sounded aggressive, It's just that people are starting to find these updates acceptable when they aren't improving anything but looks, I have tried to adjust ever since the 1.8 update, trust me I do enjoy change, I just can't stand when the whole objective of the game is diverted to an easier, more survival oriented play, as for creative mode it's a bit overkill, people don't spend as much time on tiny details as they used to(because of survival mode) they would have to build and check over every block at a time, pistons were actually inspired by a community created mod.
I am just disappointed the updates aren't of quality and are aimed at quantity just so they rake in more dollars as the new players don't get bored, while the veterans are left to retreat. The things they are adding (which take weeks for every update) are almost what you can find in an average mod, that takes 5 seconds to install and even if the community is left waiting for updates for months then there are modder's out there working to create new content, there is no shortage.
No, just... No. The rest of your post is fine, but THAT statement right there has all my no. Please tell me you are not serious in this. Assassin's Creed is NOT a game meant for 7-year-olds, as far as I can tell. I am 18 and very much appreciate the game's complex and twist-filled story.
I realize that I am probably nitpicking or fussing about something a lot of people would say isn't important about the post. But this offended me.
He's just trying to be funny, try to ignore it if you can. He has to resort to self-comedy, rather than use valid points to prove and support an argument.
I lol'd. After it updates the only version there will be with good terrain is PE, and PE's is kind of lackluster (no caves, tall grass, etc)
Replace Mojang with Koogle, and they say this exact thing to you.
The rest of the 1.8 generator is fine (ravines, villages, mineshafts) But I really like the way beta worlds are randomized
2) To those complaining: These updates are not only for looks. Two new mobs, one of which is a boss. A beacon for not only navigation but for effects and finally a good use for mineral blocks. Plus more mobs are going to be added.
3) My favorite part: Ideas! I like the heads(hope you can wear other people's heads), but I thought of something WAY better. Imagine if you didn't Immediately wake up from bed in a multiplayer server. Instead, you would dream until everyone was in a bed. You would spawn in a map that is a superflat world with trees with leaves of wool OR you would have a nightmare. Nightmares would be on an island of soul sand surrounded by lava. Just an idea I had.
Yeah I agree its kinda cool. But I know so many little kids who are all over it and obsessed with it and everytime they see it they start freaking out...
