- A new scary decoration block
- The “secret” from previous snapshots is now spawnable
- A new mob variant in the Nether
- Minor changes to the leather dye (the colors will attempt to maintain intensity, and not dilute as much)
- The “work in progress block” is now called “Beacon”
- Carrot on a stick!
- And, of course, numerous bug fixes

What goodies have you found in this week's Snapshot? Tell us about it!
Ha! Glad i'm not the only 35 year old playing this game.
I made a quick video showing off all the new features of the new snapshot as well as the use of heads as stairs.
Actually Jammy780 stole content from Mojang when editing their game. They have the right to add anything they want since they made most of the code and everything that mod and all other mods use.
I foresee a future of racetracks & pig-jockeys on multiplayer....& "card games on racing pigs" memes.
I don't really care which way it should go but one or the other would be nice.
I imagine pressure plates that trigger pistons that lift things up to block the person in front of you, so whoever's in the lead has a harder time than the people behind.
I think I need to make this race track.
With the "carrot on a stick", the pig you are mounting will move in the direction you face. They don't jump up blocks that are in front of them, so the only real use for them is traveling downhill. I wish this would be changed.
Snapshots are great, I look forward to thursdays.
Do you mean auto jump or controlled jumping. If it was auto jump that would be a great incentive to go and find a saddle.
Thx WolfWaker, SpinoOne, and Bryce2266

Now On more serious note, I been doing some survival/creative mix on the snapshots, and been noticing a lot of bugs, and current issues.
I also wish you could move the new heads with pistons...would be good to scare other people with , and use in my dark rides .
Anyone else?
Here is the crash report with it in...

In either event, mojang did NOT steal from the mods. While you can claim they stole the idea, that holds no legal bearing without a patent to back it up, and I doubt someone could win a patent case claiming someone infringed on their idea to add monster parts to a game as placeable objects and/or furniture, because I'm pretty damned certain that has been done over and over again already, even if it wasn't incredibly common.
Yes. Some of them have replied to this post.
Do not open the file you download. It's not a zip file, no matter what Windows tells you. It's a jar file. In fact, it's a minecraft.jar file
Rename it to minecraft.jar. Watch out, because Windows may try to "help" you and name it minecraft.jar.zip
Copy that minecraft.jar OVER your current one. Make a backup if you wish, but it's not necessary.
That's it. I promise.
There is a "look and feel" visual appearance copyright, and in this case there are even special copyright laws that apply to 3D objects (generally applicable to things like sculptures or architectural objects) which may apply in regards to Minecraft.
There is much more to copyright law than just the raw hex codes for computer software. You need to be careful and damn well know what you are talking about before you go and declare that somebody who makes a mod may have no copyright claim on something like this. Besides, lawyers don't talk in absolutes anyway but nearly always qualify stuff like this with a may or might not.
As for patent law and copyright law getting confused and mixed up here, I generally agree with your sentiments here other than to thank groups like the Walt Disney Corporation and the Motion Picture Association of America for really screwing up those kind of laws as they try to squeeze out the last dime of profit out of the stuff they and their members make. If it was just confined to the USA for screwed up laws that would be one thing, but sadly the EU, Japan, and other countries who participate with the WIPO (a part of the United Nations) have been messing with each other's laws to give us the current international copyright issues that exist today. The real world politics gets ugly here, especially as ordinary citizens rarely don't care about these issues when it comes time to elect people to public office... but big companies like Electronic Arts, Nintendo, and Activision sure make a stink about it and tend to write the laws for their benefit as it applies to video games... or rather drop huge piles of money as "campaign donations" to those elected officials who are sympathetic to their viewpoint. Sometimes that screwed up process produces laws so confusing that nobody knows what the law really says on something like this.
Mojang has generally been pretty decent to the community, one of the reasons why we have so many mods and that there is talk of a formal API that mod developers can use in a future update. I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt to Mojang because they certainly have a whole bunch of goodwill going in their direction over issues like this, and frankly the Mojang terms of service licenses are some of the most generous in the industry outside of perhaps an open source software license. This is perhaps just a very minor point and I would dare say just a minor blemish in an otherwise stellar record that Mojang has in regards to licensing terms and respecting user community efforts to help improve the game. If Jeb honestly says that the idea was something they came up with on their own completely, I'm fine with that. Just don't go bullshitting on something like this if it isn't true.
