Changelog:
- The block-breaking animation is now shown while the GUI is hidden.
- TNT no longer does damage to players in peaceful difficulty.
- Respawning in superflat is no longer random.
- Added rotatable Wood blocks
- Strongly decreased the amount of Experience you get from furnaces
- Depending on difficulty, creeper damage is scaled now
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a few misalignments and oddities in the item spritesheet and the creative mode's inventory's graphics.
- Fixed a crash bug.
- Fixed the chest armor slot being inaccessible in Creative mode's survival inventory tab.
- Fixed rotated wooden logs mined using Silk Touch enchanted tools dropping as rotated wooden logs.
- Fixed being unable to place half slabs in the small gaps between another half slab and the side of another block.
Bugs:
- There is a visual bug when trying to push someone off a cliff, they fall off then warp back.
- Sometimes when pushing someone off a cliff they do fall - you are not meant to be able to push people as of 12w23a.
- It appears to be a server-side feature only, yet has not been applied to the client so far, as you can still push mobs or other entities in singleplayer.
- It also appears to be a PvP-only feature. In SMP, you can still push mobs and entities too.
- When standing still in the same place as another player the other player glitches about.
- Player occasionally gets hurt from touching a wall mainly when being pushed by water into a block.
- Player can be damaged when standing in front of a villager attempting to open a door. This may tie into the suffocation bug listed above, or might be something with the way the villager opens the door.

It's taken me 20 minutes at a time to log on.
Second glitch, has anyone found a desert temple, gone down into the TNT pressure plate, and has his/her game lagged out? My entire test 1.3 world was corrupted. Any help? I mean, I don't need the world back, it was basically just flying around and exploring 1.3, but that's strange, in my opinion.
Thx!
Updates and I definitely have a love/hate relationship.
i try to log in but keep giving me error, does the server is down?
thanks in advance
This happened to me too but for 1.7.3! I had to change my .minecraft to a non read only then I could update! Try this by right clicking your .mincraft folder, going to properties, and down the bottom should be 2 boxes that say hidden and read only just untick read only!!!
I'd suggest to Mojang that they hold off on the updates until they are proven to be rock solid and represent a significant quantity of new improvements and content. The mod community is what turns the otherwise incomplete, beta-like, boring and stale vanilla MC into a complete and exciting product. Introducing useless emeralds (only one new ore?!?!) is hardly a reason to put out an update and cripple the mod community for several weeks. Mojang needs to step up their game. This update is a mess. It is unacceptable.
i have to many games i fight with to run for a few minutes at best. all of them are now in a separate harddrive partition, and the problems have yet to show any sign of stopping. this was after 2 years of hunting everywhere for a remedy of any kind. i do not want to go through that with minecraft. because the seperated games i have i hardly touch with a ten foot pole anymore. it sucks cause many are favs. heck spending 1k on a new pc for the games is a good enough reason to be cautious. considering the new pc didn't help the games much. it's an awesome machine, but ....
We are now going to need an official patch to fix the multitude of issues present in this... official patch. No, it's not as bad as Microsoft Windows, but nor is it INDIE good. Massive problems with various types of lag in multiplayer, as well as bugs (pistons popping in multiple directions?) Missing block placements, sound lagging, this list goes on. How about a brand new fast server confronted with "cannot keep up" errors with NO MODS or PLUGINS installed? The server aspect of single player is not well implemented or optimized, and is causing playability issues as a result.
This release has a "rushed" feel to it. Let's slow the heck down and get this thing fixed. How about some snapshots leading up to some major fixes for a release we could call 1.35?
1. Performance seemed noticeably choppy. Which is ridiculous... I just finished building a brand-new system, which runs previous releases smooth as silk.
2. Viewing distance came up lower than in 1.25. No idea if this is a bug or a feature, but definitely not welcome. (Yes, I know I can meddle with this using various mods. That's not the point.)
3. Most important, when I started digging coal in brand-new world, I started getting experience for it. That was the deal-breaker. Might as well remove the experience system entirely, if you're going to hand out points for digging, walking and breathing.
I've been with Minecraft since way back in the olden days, but this is the first release I've seen that seemed noticeably worse than the one before, in both build quality and feature set. Good thing I made backups. I fear that 1.31 will need a LOT of fixing before I'll be willing to install it again. And even more strongly, I fear that unless Mojang gets its butt in gear and develops a clear vision for the future of Minecraft, few of us will ever make it to version 2.0.0.
