Minecraft 1.3 Update Goes Live Tomorrow!
Had a chance to test out the 1.3 update pre-release yet? If not, the wait for 1.3's official release is nearly at an end - it goes live tomorrow! When the patch goes live, the client should prompt you to update automatically. If it doesn't, you can force the update to patch correctly by clicking the Options button on the Minecraft launcher, and pressing the "Force Update" button - easy!
We will be posting any updates that may have been included with the official 1.3 update; however, it is expected that the pre-release contained all the features present in the live version, to ease the transition for mod makers and texture pack artists into the new version.
See you in 1.3 soon!
Then I realized something... I don't have a 'force update' button.
o.0
Is that going to be in 1.3 ? So I need 1.3 to force the 1.3 update? *laughs*
I just want to update so badly...
No it will not be updated to 1.3 when the show goes live.
You can watch it on Youtube after it airs on twitch. Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/mcspotlights
Only the people that are accepted get the email.
if you click on options next to the log in button a button will appear that says force update you click on it and then log in normally
1.3 is supposed to come out on August 1st. Not at midnight your timezone though. It will be updated when Jens wants it to be updated sometime on August 1st his timezone.
Do you not understand timezones? Sacheverall might live in the USA where its not the 1st yet. Whereas you
might live someplacelive in Singapore (according to your profile) where it is already the 1st, and where Jens lives in Swedan where its very early morning on the first. So Jens (I'm guessing) will release it sometime in the morning for him (which might be afternoon for you). So whenever he updates it for everyone, it could be 3 AM for me, and 2 PM for you, we'll be able to update
I am unsure of where Sacheverall actually lives, I was just guessing.
I have counted over 250 new things (minor and major) added in 1.3!
And I would like to announce to everyone that if I were you I would back up your minecraft.jar right now, while we wait. This is for if you ever need or want to go back to 1.2.5 for something (Maybe you want to place water in the Nether) All you have to do is locate it (for Windows you type %AppData% in your Start search bar, enter it, open your .minecraft, locate the folder called bin and open it, then find the zip that says 'minecraft'. Drag that into a folder (prefferably empty one, called something like 'PreviousVersionsMC' or whatever you want). Then if you still want to play Minecraft before the release, just force an update to get another .jar back to play it.) After that you should be set for the 1.3 release. I hope I was of some help here, I am going to do that for every release now, just in case.
Yea, the Meaning of Life, the Universe and Everything... I don't know HOW the hell I got that!
Aww it's now Carpenter.... thats boring
Yea I know. I WAS 42 for a while. I'm sad now

It puts you right in the middle of a village!
Also, there are two more villages somewhat nearby, as well as plenty of cave systems and ravines to explore.
Shoutout and huge thank-you to z3bbster for finding this seed. See the original thread here:

Before you ask, it still works great on 1.3. I checked with the pre-release. Trading time!
The sentence is from Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, but the rank is given from the forums. I don't know how you actually GET that rank.
You might not want to try them because you want to keep the game as natural and fun as possible. Personally, i don't see why you would want to have world mapping, or X-ray, as it takes the fun out of mining and whatnot. But whatever floats your boat i guess
Its now 2:06am here on the East Coast of USA
