________________
It's getting really close to 1.3 release time, checking that everything runs as expected is exceptionally important. Mojang's plan is to release one or two snapshots, and then the 1.3 pre-release by Wednesday or Thursday. The pre-release is intended to be identical to the official release next week, in order to give modmakers and server admins a week’s head start. This is why Mojang needs to do a snapshot first, since they can’t do changes to the update after the pre-release is out.
This snapshot consists of all the bugfixes that Nathan (@dinnerbone) and Eric (@_grum) have been working on the last two weeks. Get it here:

1.3 wont be out for the xbox for a looooooooooong time. The xbox is only just getting the beta 1.7.3 update.
If I were you I would spend 25 dollars for it on the PC. PC worlds are four billion blocks squared (area) and the xbox worlds are ONLY a million blocks squared (1000x1000), so the PC is wayy bigger, and wayy better!
What? alpha snow world?
Actually, this is the final snapshot. On wednesday there will be a prerelease identical to 1.3, then next wednesday will be 1.3
[/Wake up On Island...PUNCH TREES!!!\]
EDIT: Disregard, forgot that snow golems only make snow in certain biomes. D:
Oh, I must've misread something. But that's still pretty good.

I wasn't sure about it needing to be in the air, it took me tons of tries
Yeah, you missed the other two people who asked the same thing.
So in one mode it's much less, in another it's about the same, and in the third mode it's more?
Odd definition of "stronger" they're using. I'd have said something like "Made creepers' explosions match difficulty level"
In Minecraft Alpha there was a small chance that when you made a world it would create a Snow World, it never stopped snowing.
What happened was that I searched for hours trying to find a non snow biome, I came across a Mountain biome full of snow, a frozen ocean and not once did I find anything that wasn't covered with either snow or ice.
Unless if it's in snow, then on hard you get half a heart of damage
That would be called ice mountains, and frozen ocean, and tundra. Its not new, just a biome. They are the largest biome in minecraft (except for oceans). Nothing new. =/
The new creative inventory will make the creative users build faster.
Actually, you're forgetting that Emeralds can be obtained quite easily through trade once you find an NPC village, meaning that if they made emerald tools the spawn rate would not change at all, but the exchange rate might become less generous. In any case, if they did add emerald tier (which Jeb has said that they will not) it would probably fill the Diamond-Iron gap. In any case though, as unlikely as emerald as a tier is, your logic is flawed. While they may be used as a form of exchange, they are still gems. Gold also used to be used as currency (in real life) which does not at all, and never did, keep it from being used for practical things. Once upon a time, aluminium was more valuable than gold...now it's every soda can. Just because something can be used as currency, does not change its other properties, the only limitation, so far as Minecraft is concerned, is Jeb's expressed lack of desire to see emeralds used that way.
