Plugman - What Is It?
Plugman is an interesting plugin manager for any server admins who might be struggling with plugin management, particularly in real-time. For those not especially savvy in the back-end of servers, but would still like to host one for their friends and/or community, Plugman will seem like a gift from the Aether. What does it do, you ask? In short, it is a simple, easy to use Bukkit plugin that lets server admins enable, disable and reload plugins on the fly from either in-game or console. It has separate permissions for users to be able to get command usages and plugin info. Want to know more about this amazing plugin? Mob Farming - The Basics
Many Minecraft veterans will hear the term "mob farm" and have an immediate reaction - some love them, some hate them, others spend considerable amounts of time engineering complex and alarmingly high-yield mob farms. For anyone intimately familiar with the process, this video might seem redundant - but what about the everyday player who wants to learn more about them, and perhaps learn some easy tricks to build some? If this is you, look no further! Youtuber KaspersMC has drawn up a comprehensive video tutorial detailing, step-by-step, how to build a relatively simple and effective mob farm. Check it out!
I like this mob farm design, I was actually able to build it, unlike some of the really giant contraptions, and got a very high yield of skeletons out of my spawner. All I needed supply-wise for my compact version (without the winding water tunnels) was building blocks, a water bucket, and the spawner.
It's always better to have a simpler design I can actually memorize.
I don't want to start an argument over this, but you should probably know GroupManager has liven past its age and is no longer supported. You should move on to PermissionsEx or bPermissions. I prefer PEX.
Essentials is also one of the oldest plugins made for Bukkit, and poorly coded. I'd recommend to switch to CommandBook.
Not sure what's up with the interest in PlugMan in these comments, since it's also really old like I said earlier.
No, they do spawn in an 8x8 area. It's weird, though. When your f coordinate it equals 3, the wall has to be 3 blocks out from the spawner, f equals 1, 4 blocks, etc.
Making a 9x9 is a lot easier though. XD
Essentials with groupmanager may be as old as bukkit, but that doesn't matter, its still one of the best plugins out there. They aren't going to stop coding due to age, many people still use it, as I still will.
The way you act is as if NoCheat users should just "Move on" and code their own hack stopping plugins.
I'll use the plugins I wish, you use the ones you wish.
FYI, commandbook is made by the same as essentials, but is lacking many commands from essentials.
You don't even know what you're talking about. I've been to Bukkit community ever since it was launched and was also a moderator on it, but yeah, if we want to argue, CommandBook is made by sk89q, the author of WorldEdit/WorldGuard, not Essentials. Essentials still conflicts with a majority of plugins, breaking them. It's only used because it's the most known (and it was good a year ago) and probably "easiest to setup" for new admins.
I never compared NoCheat users to move on, NoCheat is great and one of the essential plugins to have. I wasn't also telling you to necessarily change but more of suggest, because PEX is easy to use as well.
Not to mention, Essentials permissions setup is not any ideal. CommandBook can do everything basic Essentials can, and the extra features you may need or may not need can be added with extra plugins. CommandBook jar is also fully customizable, Essentials is not.
I disagree. I have built SEVERAL dungeon spawners that are 5w x 8Lx 5H and they work perfectly.
It has a great effect on Multiplayer 1.2.5: There is a relentless march of virtual skeletons away from 'the pit'. The client and server are not agreeing on where these fellows are really standing. It is a little like the broomsticks in Fantasia...
A short 30 second video to show what I mean:
