Minecon 2012 Has Been Confirmed!

Lydia Winters - more popularly known as "Minecraft Chick" - confirmed that Minecon 2012 would be happening, and that it would be held in Europe! While no specific country or dates were yet named, we expect such details to be revealed in the very near future. Will it be in the UK? Perhaps even Sweden? France? Check in frequently - we'll let you know soon!

Minecon 2011 was held in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino, with an estimated attendance of over five thousand people. There were numerous booths, seminars and Q&A sessions with various Minecraft groups and personalities, including opportunities to meet Mojang in person. The included a history of Minecraft, as well as marking the official launch of Minecraft 1.0, the full release of the blockbuster sandbox title.

It wasn't long ago that Minecraft saw 25 million registered users (they're already up to 26 million since that particular landmark was set), and the number just keeps growing. Along with the runaway success of Minecraft - Pocket Edition and the upcoming Minecraft - XBOX Edition, the epic block-builder continues to take the world by storm. Massive updates are on the horizon for the PC version, including the highly anticipated Mod API, NPC trading and so much more. Just how far can Minecraft go? Only time will tell!

:'( I live in North America and yes, I know about Minecon last year. But, I couldnt go because I was in the hospital having a kidney transplant. Heres to hoping next year it is once again in North America.

I hope its in London somewhere 'coz my family's planning to go to europe at the end of the year and it JUST HAPPENDS that minecon is gonna be in europe!
can u make it in london between the 1st and 14th of december? please coz if it is i wud beh soo happy.
As an aussie 13yr old gamer, it's hard to find game conventions in perth.
Coz if that wud happen i wud invite all of meh freinds to come 2!

Please change the location to Asia! If you can, host it in Telaviv, Israel! Thanks if you can! Oh and by the way I do not live in Israel, I'm just visiting it. I live in Canada, it might start when I'm still in Canada. If it's on June, please host it in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. If you do, I have a 90% chance of going there Including the other Canadian fans. It's close to USA too, so they can visit Canada. Hope you change location and can I have the date ASAP? I've never been to Minecon before. I will be glad if I can attend to it.

Why Europe... I'd have more chance of going if it was in North America, *anywhere* in North America, than I do if it's in Europe... Although if it's in the UK, I do have family there... but the travel expenses...

I would've gone to Minecon 2011, it being 4 hours from where I live... but I had no money at the time and it dissapoints me that I would have to fly across USA and into Europe just to go (which I am NOT doing).
