The new forum software has rolled out, and we are all very excited about the new changes! As IPB moves their support to 3.2, so too do we upgrade the forum with some of the latest features, bug-fixes and more that will make the forums even better than before. I do however like that notch's blog is on the main page. Now I can see if he has updated it really easy
Y U NO HINDSIGHT THIS!?!?!
I think the old one had a better UI, even though this one has a smoother design.
I wish there was a way to switch back :/
ps ( i dont care if they had this planned i said it would be useful and they came back with this post. so no matter what its a win to me)
New complains:
Poor user profile design, the latest news article banner is annoying, harder to view your profile, I really dislike top bars, New Topics should replace the 'Active Topics' part, the old color scheme was cleaner, last posts on boards are annoying (especially if the person has an animated avatar), broken avatars on board last posts, sub boards have the wrong color background so they don't match (should be transparent or at least rounded like everything else on this forum), the search box selection (members, forums, help, etc) isn't 100% centered (slightly too high), and a bunch more stuff that I'm continuing to find.
THIS!!
Also, you've got quite a few JavaScript errors. You should look into them.
Edit: editing now works
We do not rush to push out untested and unverified software. As well we made numerous code edits to Invision Power Service's base IP.Board 3.2.3 software to boost performance. Many of which are being incorporated in the 3.3 release. We generally wait one to three months after a mature version release to begin the process of upgrading site software. The 3.2 line is a massive change from 3.1 line and requires more finess in upgrading than previous versions.
This waiting period allows any nasty bugs and potential security issues to be worked out before upgrading.(Example: This security update that was just released last week.) The mature version of 3.2, 3.2.3, was released on 2012-10-18. Less than three months afterwards we began upgrading all of MCF's software in our development environment. Afterwards we ran an assault of performance tests, security tests, and other simulations to ensure that this upgrade would be of a massive benefit. During this time our front end designers were busy making sure the existing skin fit and flowed with the new software.
I will also note that in the past two months we have completely written two entirely new applications from scratch geared for MCF along with additional performance upgrades to an already speedy IP.Board 3.2 installation.
We are proud of the work we have done on this upgrade and take criticism well. Getting IP.Board to scale to the size of Minecraft Forum, the largest IPB installation in the world, is a very difficult task. We will work to fix issues that are brought to our attention.
2.some of the icon of the member is not exist.
fix 1 soon
Spellcheck works just fine in Google Chrome. Also, what version of Ff are you using?
With WYSIWYG turned off (switch on the top left corner of the edit toolbar), the fancy formatting features are turned off, but Firefox spell checking support returns.
And my avatar got all screwed up.
However, as I tend to only visit every few months, I don't know if this update is what caused it.
