Snapshot 12w03a Ready For Testing - New Adventure Map Review - News

Welcome to the Jungle

Jeb has released a new snapshot today for testing! The following changes are ready for your testing pleasure:

Ladders regained their collision box, and vines are climbable when they have a solid block behind them
Added jungle biome (requires a new world) with new tree and leaf types
Updated language files
Dispensers will place mobs instead of releasing the spawner egg
Zombies have new path-finding AI
Wolves have new AI and can be bred (when tame)

Minecraft Adventures - Kurast

The Dead Worker's Party is back with a new adventure, Kurast! Follow the unlikely party as they delve into an incredibly in-depth adventure map, made by Krimnox. This particular adventure map features:

New Class system featuring 5 classes for great multiplayer!
An adventure on an epic scale
Epic dungeons!
A deep storyline, now with an illustrated storyboard!
Loads of loot to keep your greedy needs satisfied!
Ghasts!
All the easter eggs a bunny could ever want...

I'm really liking the Jungle biome. And most of this update. But mostly the Jungle. I'm definitely living on top of one of those trees.

Hmm... I'm gonna need a moat and some better defenses. o_O

Does anyone know how you are supposed to breed wolves? Because giving them wheat doesn't work for me.Also, dispensers will not spawn any kind of hostile mob.

Anyone else noticed that vines not being backed by solid blocks allow you to fly? This has some pretty cool implications for parkour maps...

Also, zombies are now the scariest mobs in the game... See one walking away from you, and you KNOW they found a path.

Also, anyone know what the new wolf AI is like?

Ugh, I loved the new ladders, do they really have to bring them back? I don't know how may times the stupid hitboxes have killed me. I just don't get why they need to come back.

Alright, minor problem after I updated; my head seem to be stuck facing southward.

Could be it be because I use MCPatcher? It only happens in 12w03a so far.

Body facing south, head facing south:

Body facing north, head facing south:

Body facing east, head facing south:

Body facing west, head facing south:

I'm sure the problem is on my end. I could use an idea, however. Anybody?

Wow, exciting news!! I can't wait to see the new tree, but I never download snapshots. :T Also, I am so glad vines are climbable.

Also have a messed-up head problem : |.
The Jungle Biomes are spectacular, the zombie AI is awesome, the wolf breeding is great (need meat to breed), climbing vines is a great improvement, and ladder hitboxes are OK...
...guess I have to start using more vines as ladders...

Prob:Whenever I put in the 12w03a minecraft.jar file in my bin and delete the 1.1.0 minecraft.jar file, and I load up my minecraft, it gets stuck on the loading screen. Am I doing it wrong or is it a bug?
I am using Windows.

I think the ladders not having hitboxes was an extremely stupid idea. Not only did it destroy many maps that made use of their hitbox, but it also made many things obsolete, and I found that update excruciatingly annoying.

Glad to see they are back, though!

Needs work!

IT works fine on my laptop but when I try to load on my desktop I get this.

This is the same PC ran Minecraft flawlessly since Alpha.

Also The screenshot key produces black screen screenshots. I had to use the old alpha trick.
