Minecraft version 1.1 is now officially out! Including the updates mentioned above, 1.1 has added the following features:
- Bow Enchantments
- Golden Apple recipe
- New language translations.
- Slightly smoothed color transitions between biomes
- Reduced brewing time to 20 seconds
- Added spawn eggs to creative (the colors of the eggs even look like the mobs)
- Added world type options (currently only super-flat and default)
- Removed collision box from ladders
- Sheep eat grass and regain their wool
Also included is a ton of various bugfixes and minor tweaks to the game engine, many of which were included in previous snapshot releases. To update, just run your Minecraft client normally, and you're good to go!
I got it just now!
Go to the file .minecraft/options.txt an fix the line lang:en_UK to lang:en_US
I come with a way to solve your problem. A way to switch back to the 1.0.0 version of Minecraft OR EARLIER!
READ ON!
Anyone who has Windows 7 and wants to uninstall the 1.1 update? In other words, switch Minecraft Versions from 1.1 back to 1.0.0 or earlier, so you can play on Multiplayer servers that have not yet upgraded to 1.1? Look no further, because this is the easiest and best way, no downloads necessarily, to switch back. Follow the link for a video tutorial (not made by me)
How to Downgrade Minecraft 1.1.0 to 1.0.0 with Windows 7
Note: This was for the 1.6 to 1.5 downgrade, but the process is the same for ANY downgrade. (It works for 1.1 back to 1.0.0 too!)
My Comments:
It works great, I tried it! If anyone needs any more help with this, just PM (Private message) me on this here forum!
Sorry that it's only for Windows 7! I will try to find a way with Macintosh and maybe Linux upon request!
Afraid to go into the Minecraft folders on your computer because you think it might mess up Minecraft and make it not work any more? As long as you don't delete any other files besides the "bin" and "resources", your A-Okay! Minecraft will patch itself up. Also remember that when you finish doing this tutorial and success, make sure to click "Not now" when Minecraft asks you if you want to update. Otherwise, you'll have to go through the whole process again and Minecraft will update to 1.1
Questions? PM (Private message) me.
Spread the word, share the link to my post with your friends. Help them "fix" Minecraft.
Can't keep up with the video tutorial or you're just confused? I can help you. Either PM me or request a written tutorial from me. Happy to help! :biggrin.gif:

Thanks for reading and I hope this helps! Remember that if you have Linux or Mac and want to easily downgrade Minecraft, just PM/reply and upon request, I will try to find an easy way to do this!
?
OOOH thank you! That fixes it!
From http://www.minecraft.net/stats:
In the last 24 hours, 67,134 people registered, and 10,368 people bought the game.
Ya know... at about ~$280,000 a day... I expect WAAAAAAAY more.
The quality and frequency of new features from the mod community... those guys making ~$0 a day doing this, blows this update away beyond words. Vanilla minecraft is going stale, every great game out there today relies on Mods and the community to extend the lifespan and enjoyment of a game.
In all fairness, if I had that kind of cash rolling in, I wouldn't be sitting in front of my PC coding a game, BUT, I'd hire a payload of people to get it done, and get it done right.
Now... Give us the MOD API

To update, on the logon screen, goto options, slct force update, then login :biggrin.gif:
I always keep a backup of the entire Minecraft folder before doing anything with it (installing modloader, updating, etc.)
If you do the same, just swap the two folders and your in business.
