Edit it to say "Report bugs if not already reported, so use search first." or something so that dupes don't flood.

A 'C' snapshot; don't see many of those. I guess 1.5 must be coming pretty soon.

I can't seem to tell if this includes the "lighting engine overhaul." I know that they added the smooth lighting 'Maximum' option, but is this the final implementation? Thanks to anyone who can illuminate this for me :)

Is it just me or does Normal Render distance look really hazy?

Although I can't wait to Get my hands in this new update I can't help thinking that minecraft is getting a bit too complicated?
Not yet. They've made some optimisations to the existing code, but the engine hasn't been changed yet. Or at least not as far as I can tell or have heard about. Nathan did fix it once, but it made the nether unplayable so he put it aside until he can come up with a proper solution.

You mean optimizations FPS-wise? Both Smooth Lighting versions are laggy for me, perhaps more now than ever, but it could be because I'm used to having it off now.

Always makes me wonder how with coding, updating one thing can make fifty other things not get along. My friends tell me that thats the annoying thing about coding.

Awesome! with the effects and scoreboard, you can make an epic pvp arena, where no one has armor, and every punch does a 1 hit kill, while keeping track of everyone's scores/kills/deaths!!!!
PRETEND THERE IS AN EPIC BANNER RIGHT HERE! oh, fyi, i need beta testers: http://www.minecraft...or-the-captain/
