Simon Lane (better known to Yogscast fans as Honeydew) has issued a response to recent statements regarding Yogscasts' alleged behavior at Minecon. They seemed somewhat confused and dismayed at statements regarding their behavior, stating that they were "surprised and confused about where this stuff has come from - especially since the only time we spoke to Notch was at the interview." Further comments by Simon emphasized happiness that they were able to connect to fans directly, and that the Yogscast crew were disappointed that they couldn't sign and meet every fan present.
Both sides of the dispute seem to point only to two tired parties having a minor misunderstanding, which is already clearing up. You can view the entire statement by Yogscastright here!
UPDATE: Notch has responded to the Yogscast's recent statement, noting that the situation is likely a "stress-related misunderstanding." He has apologized for his earlier comments, and seems as eager as the Yogscast crew to put the misunderstanding behind him.
I'm glad the Yogscast managed to clear up the issues by making a mature response. I hope their response clears up things for everyone, Yognau(gh)t or not. I really hope tensions will stop rising now. :smile.gif:
Notch needs to understand, THE INTERNET IS NOT A TOY. Rumors get out of hand like a school made up of all grades and a collage built next door with a bridge club made up of ALL the gossiping old ladies on top of that.
I remember seeing a commercial mentioning that what you put on the internet, stays on the internet, so watch what you post.
as if getting banned from minecon wasnt odd enough now they say they didnt do anything is Notch lying
or is the yogcast lying e_e
Honestly, Notch has a reputation for openly speaking about things he shouldn't. It wouldn't surprise me if he got incorrect, third party information from somewhere about this and accepted it as gospel truth.
Someone, somewhere is stretching the truth...and I don't think it's Notch or the Yogscast guys.
I dont get it.. If they are denying this why couldn't they of just said it wasnt them from the start insted of "we wait till we are home to say our side"
So that they didn't pull a Notch by writing a tired and emotional response when their heads weren't at the clearest.

From what I've read, it's because they were exhausted and wanted to wait util they could do a proper write-up of their experience. Public relations can be tricky, and being able to articulate you point properly is not something to be done brashly.
Notch was most likely drunk...he said he had champagne at Deadmau5's party and was wild. He probably lost understanding and flamed away...I know Yogscast would NEVER do such a thing, and Notch should apologize for what he did.
@DuffmanX18 Well to me it just doesn't make sense.. They could of said that these statements arnt true and they would write up a more through side of their story when they was back home. But all they said was "we will respond when we are back" Or something, It seems like they where trying to buy time.. And also why are they trying to make mine-con look bad? They didnt need to mention that it was organized, who knows maybe they are lying about this.. We really need people who went to this thing to say..
What I dont like is everyone sending so much hate to notch.. I dont get why.. He didnt exactly do anything wrong.. He may of well been in the wrong who knows.. But turning against him..?
I can understand where you're coming from. Though I didn't take their response as turning against him so much as being confused and looking to better understand the accusations. Maybe I'm just misinterpreting this poorly.
As for people hating on Notch, I think they're coming from the extreme Yogscast camp, and they just want to defend them at any possible opportunity. Sort of like our friend Nopes here, just on the other extreme end.

Misunderstandings cost lives, jobs, and more.

See what a mature people can do?

Though, they probably weren't making it up, a lot of it just felt fake. Only my opinion, no need for s.
I can tell you're a veritable fountain of discourse.
Regardless of what exactly DDOSing entails, I can tell you one thing it is; Illegal, in both the United States and the United Kingdom.
So I hope your friends enjoy jailtime when they eventually get caught. They'll make many friends in prison, im sure.
It doesn't matter. Doing any kind of website attacks on the Yogscast is nothing short of asshattery.
With all due respect, you and your friends are assholes and that's all there is to it.
Let this be a lesson folks. Never post on the internet when you're exausted and/or hungover.
