Mojang, Yogscast In Dispute
It would seem that there is some dispute with recent events, specifically between Mojang's Notch and the crew of Yogscast. While Notch has commented on his side of the tale, Yogs has stated that they will comment on the situation when they arrive home in the UK, and have not officially responded as yet.
The dispute seems to revolve around the Yogscast crews' alleged behavior during the convention. While tensions seem high, there has not yet been a direct conflict between the two parties. Indeed, the interview between Yogscast and Notch seemed quite positive, indicating that the incident may simply be a misunderstanding. We will be posting updates as they become available - check back frequently!

It seems like people are just taking sides with Notch because hes the creator of Minecraft, therefore they just assume that he will prevail, whether hes 100% correct or not. All the "once" Yogscast viewers who say that theyve gone downhill seem to only be saying it based on this event, which we dont even know the entirety of. Ive been watching them for a year and a half now, and their playing style and actions do not seem to have changed at all.
Thats Simon. Everytime he sees something he deems cute, he makes that noise. I only listened to them on my headphones once. Never again. >_<
But I guess we'll have to see their response.
This is probably just a missunderstanding.
I believe were all here for the same thing... Minecraft, mods, servers, news and reviews
Personally I think there is already a forum for "He said, She said" BS..
Isn't it called Facebook?
The fact is no matter who is wrong or right.. Yogs make good vids / review's and I'm sure alot of us will still watch, even if they are idiots off-cam... hell, I'm an idiot most of the time :wink.gif:
I also think notch has jumped the gun with this comment.. "Wow, hate, insults and threats are flooding in from Yogscast fans, ill stop biting my tongue now"
Having a go at Yogs because the fan's are at your heels?
Didn't Mojang fan's go on a Bethesda rampage before getting all of the facts after a premature post from this site only told your side of the story (and even then left alot for people to fill in the blanks)I think it was because you forgot to mention that Bethesda had nothing to do with it, but someone acting on Bethesda's behalf without even telling them 1st, not sure if it was just the layers or the publishing company.. anyway..
I really don't think this is front page, must read Minecraft news, do you?
They were given a panel for free. Did they need a script or someone to hold their hand and tell them what to do?
That makes up for everything else that might have happened, does it? They got badgered and yanked around by someone who didnt know what she was doing, forced to pay thousands of dollars for everything else, but skipped out on one grand of it, so that makes it all better.
I dont know if this is true or not, but if it is, getting a panel for free is almost irrelevant compared to the rest of the problems.
"informed of their panel time, autograph time or any scheduling until about 2-3 days before they had to fly out"
--biased source
yanked around?---No. How were they being "badgered" and who put the gun to their head and forced them to "pay thousands of dollars".
Notch doesn't run Mojang.. the CEO does.. so he doesn't need to learn how to run a company, and if I made a joke about your mum being ugly/gross/a donkey ****er, and you got upset, I should be able to turn around and say "It's funny to me and people I know, grow a sense of humour and grow up"... uh.. huh.
If that's your stance, you must never get mad at anything, because someone, somewhere will find it funny..
Youll notice that I made a point of saying "If this is true". Yanked around may not, and likely does not, imply the panel time. If you thought into it you would realize that there are a great many other things that have to be done when at a convention, not just a panel.
In terms of money, perhaps I was being a little too emphatic over being forced, but if you read the entire post and didnt simply stop at the first thing you could argue with, you would have seen just how much it must have cost them. Only two tickets were free, IF they got a booth. 8 people went. IF they didnt have a booth, then it was 800 dollars. If they DID have a booth, then it would have been around 1600. Now think about how much room and board was. The cheapest hotels in Vegas are not exactly cheap. I dont know where they stayed, but when my father stayed there for three nights in a cheap hotel, it cost him 200 dollars a night. So, if there were 8 people for three days, thats yes another 4800 dollars. Also, think of the plane tickets as well. I flew from my current state back to my home state, and it took me 200 dollars, three months in advance. Depending on when they bought their tickets, thats another 1600, or more.
So, right off the bat, they could have paid anything from between 7400 dollars to 8000 dollars, and thats going on the low side. Thats a lot of money to spend just to have yourself yanked around by a woman who doesnt know what shes doing, and to be forced by IGN to not actually discuss minecraft on video, under what I assume was risk of lawsuit, and god only know how much that might have cost them.
I dont know about you, but if that were the case, I think I would have good reason to be pissed off about that.
Seriously, all you are doing is making a huge, useless mess with all of these random assumptions. Just wait for the Yogscast to tell their side of the story and then put the facts together. Don't judge, don't assume, collect the facts.
You can definitely present your opinions, but don't press them upon each other like everyone else is supposed to think like you do. Express your opinion and maybe explain why if you want to, but don't fight over useless nonsense. You can't make someone change their mind about their opinion by using your opinions, you use facts. If they don't want to listen to the facts, that's on them.
Just a little tip.
When(If) the war breaks out, I'll be kickin' back relaxing and laughing with some buttered popcorn.
Perhaps it is just a misunderstanding. So a kid asked the Yogscast to sign something that Notch also signed, and they made a joke that included "f*ck you". It was never said that the conversation went,
Kid: Hey Yogscast will you sign this for me?
Yogscast: F*ck you.
It could have been a joke they made and who knows, maybe the kid also found it funny and laughed, but the parent was offended or only heard the end of the joke and assumed the Yogscast had told their child f*ck you.
Or, maybe this is all Notch and the Yogscast trolling us. In their interview Notch said if he woke up in his body, he would just troll people and post on Twitter that he is on vacation (which he did do and this has been posted quite a few times already). Since this started I have only seen the Yogscast's subscribers increase, sure there's a few people that unsubbed because they wanna jump to conclusions, but overall they have been gaining.
Or, maybe the Yogscast are just used to how things are in their home country. You've spent your life in a completely different country with people that act one way, then fly to another country for an event where people act another way. For people saying Americans don't swear in or for jokes obviously don't get out much. People all over the world swear in jokes, not just in England. I've been to quite a few different states and have heard it. So before you pick a side and flame the other, why not stop and think about it. If someone sued you and you were in court, and the judge only heard their side of the story and decided they were right and you were wrong, case closed, how would you feel?
"I'm sorry about the ugly public airing of dirty laundry."

and saying this is any better? you're being an immature man child for calling him one, how about acting like an adult and instead of bitching about it, wait for the reply by yogscast, and then not giving a ****, and continue to both watch their videos and play the game.
That's not Notch's fault, mind you.
He is "sorry about the ugly public airing of dirty laundry.", if you've seen his recent tweet.
He can say what he thinks about the Yogscast, but how the "Notch Fans" act are on them. It is that fan's fault for not thinking of both sides first, not Notch's.
I feel sorry for the way that guy must have treated the Yogscast. It was a childish thing to do. This is what I meant by taking in the facts from both sides rather than being biased when only one side is out there.
And I'm not saying this because I'm a yogscast fan (which I'm not) I'm saying this because notch is a immature baby.
