Minecraft Gets Honors at GDC
The recent Game Developer's Conference (GDC Online) - hosted in Austin, TX - passed out awards to numerous games for outstanding achievements. Only two games took home more than one award, and Minecraft was one of them! Earning honors for Best Community Relations and Best Live Game, the indie-developed masterpiece definitely stood out among the game crowd!
The GDC Online awards focus primarily on Online titles; with recent contenders representing "a massive range of genres and studios", it's very exciting to see Minecraft continue to make a strong, lasting impression on the gaming industry. With the launch of the game (as well as Minecon) near on the horizon, Mojang's masterpiece creation is set to hit the ground running, already having over 3.5 million copies purchased!
Additionally, Notch has recently commented on the recent changes to the sun and moon for the 1.9 PR4, and is now asking for your feedback! Take this poll to weigh in your opinon: do you want the sun and moon to be square or round?
Check back in frequently for updates!
Although, we all know MC wins, hands down. Everything.
Minecraft wins at everything, it is made of winning.
Also, square sun/moon.
i say in the spirit of minecraft keep the sun and moon square
Most texture packs give the user a round sun/moon anyways so why not just make it round? Square sun looks odd with the new lighting system anyhow. ヅ
please keep the essence of minecraft
SUN/MOON
should be square!
Good job!!!
Notch, if you wanna tinker with the sun and moon, make them actually rise in the east.
Community is outstanding.
Thanks to Notch for making this "its not even a game " ITS MORE THAN A GAME!." its a lot lot more :).
Minecraft will be always great!
But minecraft is full of trolls (including notch lol).
