I can't tell whether I like this or not. It doesn't add to many things noticeable, but I did notice how when you jump you gain EXP. Although, props to Notch for his hustle making this update. Also, I call the villagers "Squidwardians."
EVERYONE WHO DOESN'T READ NOTCH'S OR JEB'S TWITTER READ THIS.
IT IS VERSION 1.10 COMING UP NEXT. NOT 1.1. THERE'S A DIFFERENCE.
IT'S A PRE-RELEASE, AND THERE WILL BE BUGS AND USELESS ITEMS UNTIL THEY GIVE IT A USE.
I DON'T SEE YOU GUYS MAKING A MULTIMILLION DOLLAR GAME. SO SHUT IT.
I cant play im doing the EXACT same thing for 1.9 prerelase as i did for 1.8
THIS IS MY PROBLEM IF YOU CAN HELP PLEASE DO

Major Version are commonly 0 for Alpha, 1 for Beta, 2 for release. 2.0 will be November full release
Release iteration each time a new set of feature is released, so the tenth iteration will be '10'
Revision are bug fix, so we will likely see 1.10.1, 1.10.2, ect...
Now those are not hard rules, and every developer is free to identify its build as he want; I've seen games where build number was the date it was compiled. But based on my programmer experience and version number I've seen so far, I am pretty sure of what I described above.
Addendum: It is very likely that expansion post final launch will be 3.x, 4.x and so forth, but really it is pure conjecture at this time :tongue.gif:

there is like 3 thread in the 1.9 section of the forums with picture of it. Also, it is likely already on the wiki.
They follow a pretty standard version format where each number represents a specific type of update.
Build, Major, Minor
It's not a decimal number because the "." only represents a divider, each number is a whole number within itself.
Personally, I prefer the format:
Build (Any change not bug-fix related or tweaking), Patch (Update, bug-fixes and tweaking)
e.g. Build 1453u3
