Testing the Snapshot:

Users who wanted to test Snapshots and Pre-releases in the past had to manually download the files, copy over existing files, and run the risk of ruining their single-player games. Want an easier way to test Snapshots, that also guarantees the safety of any and all of your worlds? The Curse Client now has Snapshot support, and using it couldn't possibly be easier! Check it out:

Literally two steps, that's it. Click the image to see the video!

That's it, you're playing the latest Snapshot! There are also filter options to only see Snapshots, Pre-releases, or full releases. Wait, full releases?! That's right, you can even use the Client to play on older versions of Minecraft, at any time! This feature is good for those who want to roll back to earlier versions of Minecraft for testing, nostalgia, or if their favorite server is still running on an outdated version number. Sweet!

So let's say you're running the Client, but don't want to open it up. What is a fast, easy way to get this Snapshot? Well, if you click the button on the banner below, the Client will do all the work for you (or, if you don't have the Client installed, will help with that as well).

We need to be able to adjust mob scoreboard points with NBT data tags.  If we already can, sorry. If not, this should be added.

It wasn't fixed, but it was substantially improved. From the site:

EDIT:

I just tested this in my test world where I have a little spawn area and iron golem farm, and it works in that they don't crowd into one area any more. They do however crowd into *two* areas... Posted Image
Cool. Did you just browse the "recently updated" entries in the bug database? Or did you find this another way?
Do we even really know that this specific change made it into this snapshot? (since the original snapshot posting didn't mention this one)

Are you sure, I tested it again and works fine. If the front torch of the comparator is lit, is doesn't do the rapid fire thing. If the front torch is off, then it will do the thing correctly. Try it again with this technique.
Nope can't get it to work. a picture of your technique would be nice.

How ever you can achieve the rapid fire by placing a dispenser with a block beside it, and on that block put a switch.  Next put 3 redstone wire in a loop connected to the comparator.  Put the comparator in subtraction mode and then put a redstone torch beside the receiving end were the main power would enter.  Refer to picture for a better understanding on what it should look like.  Oh one thing the redstone wire is flashing rapidly, you can not tell in a still picture.  =)

So they added...a bunch of fixes to semi-rare bugs. Ok, that's still nice.
But what features did they add? Oh...a new feature that can't even be used
in vanilla Minecraft...yay...

Oh please, if they added a lot of new features, then you'd complain that Mojang is ignoring bugs.
I am what I am. Nothing more and nothing less.

What's wrong with the clouds?  Last time I checked, clouds don't look transparent from below in real life either.  Mainly because of the distance between the ground and the clouds themselves.  I have a feeling that this will look wierd.
There's a reason he's called "The Sisko"

No I wouldn't. I pretty much ignore bugs, since most of them involve things like an unintended
increase in spider spawning when you place 12 or more hoppers into a village with exactly 4
houses on a full moon. (Exaguration)

I'm a total feature junky. After a few years of Minecraft, it starts to get mighty
borring when no new features are added for a while. If they finally added colored lighting,
I'd be too busy playing around with it to CARE if a zombie randomly spawned in my house
(They're so darn weak anyway) and all it would make me do is wish for them to update the
combat system to be more fun and exciting.
No, I will NOT feed your dragon. I do not CARE about your dragon. I will not give you +1 rep for no good reason, I will not subscribe to your channel just because it exists, and I will not become part of your fanboy "army".

I commented on the bug, which put me in "watch" mode. I think you can also click "Watch" on the bug page to watch it as well. In that mode, it sends you an email whenever someone comments or the status changes.

Not the idea I had in mind, but I included a screenshot of what I was saying. Below are two dropper blocks (can also be used with dispencers) both powered by that one redstone torch. One has a comparator with the torch off, while the other one has the comparator torch on (or subtraction mode). The dropper with the comparator torch off, is firing the items at a more faster rate and will continue until stopped. The other dropper isn't firing at all, which has the comparator torch lit. Both are filled with paper. Hope you understood the concept. But we still don't know if this feature is here to stay until 1.5 arrives.

Testing out the 13w06a snapshot, and it is almost unplayable on my (very) old laptop (Intel Core 2 duo, 2 GB, Vista, Java 7.13 - no special graphics card).  It has slowly been getting worse with each new Minecraft revision.   Movement is very slow, with a lot of stuttering during the moves.  It doesn't seem to make much difference if Minecraft is the only thing running.   All other programs seem to still work fine, so I'm pretty sure this is Minecraft/Java.  Maybe OptiFine will help when it catches up.  Or maybe the developers are still tweaking the performance issues before the official update.  One can only hope.  If not, I'll either have to give up the game or start digging around in the couch cushions to find the coin to get a long, long overdue, new computer.  Now wouldn't THAT be a shame!

it would be nice if they would fix this lighting bug, which has been around since Beta 1.8

https://mojang.atlas.../browse/MC-7508

fix is included, but odds are they will never see it among all the noise

The best game isn't worth a damn if it is unplayable because of bugs. You cannot simply add more and more stuff without making the old stuff work correctly.

Ok my curse client doesn't download snapshot 13w06a. I click the link above to use the client to install it and nothing, it still says my versions as 13w05b. My curse client is v5.
