With the outstanding response from the community on the pre-release of 1.8 (you have downloaded it, haven't you?), we've set up a special page on the wiki where the bugs you find should be reported. This will give Mojang a specific all-inclusive place to look and fix them.
Bug: Vanishing Creeper
while leaving my base to collect some lava from an above ground stream I looked back at my base and saw a creeper hanging out on a ledge by the side wall, I moved closer he turned to look at me and promptly vanished
After a while I have found a NPC village. The memory allocation jumped from around 700 MB to 950 MB (100%) and never come back (even after I left the village).
This caused a stratospheric amount of lag. Two things makes me think :
1. I have never experienced that before (I always play with all set to maximum and I never had lag). 700 to 950 MB are quite a lot for a game like Minecraft... I play new games with full detail on 3 screens and all goes perfectly. it's also strange that when it reaches the maximum it never came down again...
2. 950MB of memory available. In my computer there is nothing with that amount of memory :
- Hard disks have more than 2TB free.
- RAM blocks are two 1600MHz DDR3 4GB
- Video memory is an HD4970 with 2 Gigabyte (tomorrow I will mount the second graphic GPU to get 4GB).
I guess it is referred to the RAM memory but why it doesn't recognize the whole memory? When I check the usage of memory with other software I see that I have 5 to 6 GB free!
I don't know how many people have brought this up, but one thing i noticed after attacking a zombie and got the random Saving Chunks screen, freezing the game. What really gets me though is how long it took just to start the minecraft client after the freeze since it took a minute before i actually saw the client pop up. i had to reboot the client and then slowly wait for it. Again i don't know if anyone posted this already.
I was playing around with 1.8 in my server and when i killed another player, the server began to lagg like crazy which might have been from the xp bubbles??? Hope this helps
Doors make no sounds when opened or closed. The fence gates will let you phase through them some times. No villages ever spawn and i mean never i traveled to the co-ords 5000 in every direction, and nothing. I don't know if they were in the pre-game but if they are they'r rareness is way to high, and yes i used a brand new map. Vines spread way to quickly. The lighting is a bit too orange, maybe make it a bit more yellowy.
and servers will crash for no reason at all i was only one on my server and i was afk not holding anything in survival mode. when i get back its freezed up no one joined and poof crashes the server
2 bugs I've noticed: 1st person arm lighting is very frantic, and you may not be able to pick up the items ejected when items are left in the crafting box.

1. I was using a crafting table and clicked out with stuff on the table, it dropped the sticks and stuff, but I could not pick up the items.
2. I clicked a furnace and got "Saving Chunks" then a black screen.
when you put it into a furnace and cook it it says "saving chunks" and the same when you try to eat a cooked chicken

the only things that ever spawned for me were ravines and abandoned mines.
