A short while ago, Notch talked about some of the exciting behavioral changes in animals for 1.8 - most notably, how they will now flee when attacked, rather than stand there and stare at you. This ended up having the added effect of wolf attacks looking more "natural", in a sense, as prey would now flee its attacker, rather than look around blankly and grunt. He went on to say that - due in part to the behavioral changes, and a desire to see more dynamic mob-to-mob interactions - he is beginning a super-secret weekend project! What does it entail?
Thank gawd....Now I will only have to punch each cow in a herd once, then they will go moo somewhere else.
Since animal domestication was brought up, I wonder if the interaction will involve rams, bulls, boars, & brutes, resulting in lambs, calves, piglets, & pups.

And science gets done and you make a neat gun
For the people who are still alive
Uh... bugs?
