UPDATE NOTE
There seems to be some (understandable) confusion in regards to where the lawsuit is coming from. To clarify, "Bethesda Softworks" (publisher and developer of game titles) and "Bethesda Game Studios" (Creators of games like Oblivion, Skyrim etc.) are not the same entity. BGS is an in-house game-making team led by Todd Howard which is one part of Bethesda Softworks, and has no direct connection to the lawsuit in progress by Bethesda Softworks. Unless further specified by the acronym "BGS", any references to Bethesda in the following article assume "Bethesda Softworks". Sorry about the confusion!

Mojang has been in development of another project (which we went over in our last installment), which bears the working name "Scrolls". Bethesda has expressed concern that players could mix up this new game with their own "Elder Scrolls" series, although the two seem to share no noticeable similarities beyond the word "scrolls".
Notch said that their office received a 15-page cease-and-desist letter, claiming that Mojang would be sued for rights to the word, along with formal requests for legal fees. He went on to say that they are attempting to establish talks with Bethesda regarding the word, to find an amicable solution for both parties. At the time of this writing, there was no available response from Bethesda.
We will continue to update this article as information becomes available.

That would make sense. After all, they are competition.
Bethesda knew that Notch would use it's fanbase(including Notch's personal website, PC Gamer) against them, but they still HAD TO PROTECT THEIR TRADEMARK. While it's bad that Notch's registered such a simple and common word, "Scrolls", Bethesda's only doing what they have to do to maintain their trademark. At least they were smart enough not to sue him right away[that's right, most news titles are misleading(with Notch's help): Bethesda's simply giving Notch a SECOND warning].
Bethesda obviously won't win this on court, but the defense of their trademark will be accomplished and their mission will be complete. Maybe some kids won't play Skyrim because their Almighty God Notch told them not to, but their dad most likely will, since adults tend to reason instead of raging.

Fan of Minecraft and Bethesda :wink.gif:
Regardless of what happens from this lawsuit, I will continue to look forward to Skyrim. <3
Bethesda is sad that their Skyrim isn't on the list... Which is weird because their game is searched as Skyrim, not The Elder Scrolls 5.
Lawyers do stuff like thing all the time, it's just not very public since they strike at people privately to threaten them. Because Bethesda Softworks did this and NOT Bethesda Game Studio, it's likely that some stupid legal department is being layed off for this.
The idiotic people would. Not the smart people who look at all sides of the situation.
Anyway, just because Zenimax is sueing, I'm never buying any of Bethesda's games!!! D:
...which doesn't make a difference because I never owned any of their games.
