UPDATE NOTE
There seems to be some (understandable) confusion in regards to where the lawsuit is coming from. To clarify, "Bethesda Softworks" (publisher and developer of game titles) and "Bethesda Game Studios" (Creators of games like Oblivion, Skyrim etc.) are not the same entity. BGS is an in-house game-making team led by Todd Howard which is one part of Bethesda Softworks, and has no direct connection to the lawsuit in progress by Bethesda Softworks. Unless further specified by the acronym "BGS", any references to Bethesda in the following article assume "Bethesda Softworks". Sorry about the confusion!

Mojang has been in development of another project (which we went over in our last installment), which bears the working name "Scrolls". Bethesda has expressed concern that players could mix up this new game with their own "Elder Scrolls" series, although the two seem to share no noticeable similarities beyond the word "scrolls".
Notch said that their office received a 15-page cease-and-desist letter, claiming that Mojang would be sued for rights to the word, along with formal requests for legal fees. He went on to say that they are attempting to establish talks with Bethesda regarding the word, to find an amicable solution for both parties. At the time of this writing, there was no available response from Bethesda.
We will continue to update this article as information becomes available.

<<Not being stupid. Y.Y Honest.
As for the whole issue with the word of "scrolls", Zenimax seems to be taking it a bit over the top. One being that the word that isn't trademarked to anyone in particular; suing or not. And I'm quite curious to know how the use of the word "scrolls" in Minecraft would cause it to be confused with their game(s).
Also, judging from the small article that Notch put up, Although the company hasn't technically sued yet, they seemed to have implied that they were going to if Minecraft "didn't comply".
o.0 Either way, being anal about the use of the word is like Donald Trump trying to coin in (again) on the phrase "You're Fired!" (imho).
<.< Also, to the boycotting. Even though it may be a small amount of people, one would be surprised about how much of an impact it can still be able to have. Not that I personally would end up being in it (since I haven't heard of this skyrim game up until reading this thread).
i have a little advice GET OVER IT lots of other games have scrolls in it to
so put on your big boy panties and get over it
This.

If not exist "brain.*" do (sue mojang) else (del brain.*&sue mojang)
Batch programmers, lets suport mojang!
Both bethesda gamestudio and softworks are parts of the company we call bethesda
So boycotting the games of bethesda gamestudio we generate pressure (both in gamestudio and sftwork)
So if they (bethesda lawyers) dont stop sueing mojang both bethesda gmestudio and sftworks wont recive money
Thats why they boycott, actualy im not going to stop buying their games, its just an explaination
This is like if we dont buy from the gamestudio the softwork wont get money and then will allow notch use that fcking word

Me, and many people in this forum would like you to stop causing trouble for Mojang. Using and excuse like "players could mix up this new game with their own 'Elder Scrolls' series" is nonsense. No player will ever mix up the "Elder Scrolls" with another game, because of how popular it is, and that "Elder Scrolls" "Players" are to familiar with the games themselves to notice the difference. So please leave the Indie games company alone. Thank you.
Sincerely
Bethesda & Mojang fan
I really think Bethesda is weird!
