1.8 Updates: More Goodies
In a recent interview, Notch hinted at some exciting potential additions to the Adventure Update, including Melons and pumpkins which grow from a central stem to a maximum size; animal farms, the ability to help (or harm) NPC villages as desired, and the likelihood of boss monsters in the randomly generated dungeons.
Stay tuned as we continue to provide updates!
It looks like it's turning into an RPG.
If things are going how I think they're going, Minecraft will lose its charm that got me interested in the first place.
I had just asked Notch a while ago on his twitter if he could provide more detail of 1.8 while we wait for final release.
- ANIMAL FARMS! **** yea! No more hunting cows for leather or pigs for porkchops, or chickens for feathers and eggs.
- Helping/harming NPC villages? Great! I'm looking forward to making a base in the center to keep hostile mobs off of me. <3
- Bosses in strongholds? Hell yeah! That'll be fun.
Yes, but building all the time also loses its novelty after a while. I'd like to do more than just build an empty SSP city or massive castle, then return to my cobblestone generator when I run out of resources. I'd like to do more, like explore things such as ruins (or in this case, strongholds) or trade any junk items I've hoarded away to NPCs and save up for things that would benefit me.
Thanks KingN
