This week's Snapshot is ready for testing!  Are you ready for the goodness?  Check it out:

Snapshot Features:

  • Added a fancy new Scoreboard system
  • Added some new functionality to dispensers
  • Taught dispensers and droppers about the 3rd dimension
  • Scared mobs away from the dangerous minecart tracks
  • Former bugs listed below, have now been fixed:
    • Achievements lost after update
    • Flowing water still drags the player while flying.
    • Piston extended and retracted at the same time
    • Chest glitch that lets them appear as if they are opened while they are not.
    • Doors texture wrong
    • Particle Effects are messed up again...
    • Breeding cows can consume more than one wheat
    • Variable redstone strength causing strange update behavior
    • Hopper doesn't accept items from second slot when container has different items in first slot
    • Redstone signals shortened by devices that output a shorter signal
    • Iron door stays powered when retrieving the redstone block
    • Changing the Texturepack ingame renders strange
    • Boats and minecarts should not be dropped in Creative
    • Using Pick Block on Minecart with TNT or Hopper gives you just a Minecart
    • Monostable Circuits only work in a North/South Configuration
    • Armor enchantments (besides Thorns) have no effect on mobs
    • If a minecart with hopper falls into the void, the game will crash
    • Hopper minecart behave like they are on powered Activator rail if they never touched one.
    • Wrong death message of renamed mobs spawned by dispensers
    • Minecart with hopper is not placed on rail

I suggest dispensers that shoot seeds onto fertile ground and automatically plant them.

nerfing bone meal is a good thing since now you gotta work harder for the price.people have gotten too lazy,about time someone took some action

I love Mojang these snapshots allow us to do many thing and in a sorta weird way help make the game. Mojang is one of the few gaming companies that do this for their community.  Another thing is they are also willing to do/try new thing. This new snapshot is very fun and i like where they are going with the dropper and the dispenser blocks. Now the dispenser is very useful because of the new opportunities opened by the  addition of the dropper block. Keep up the great work Mojang the redstone people are going to love this, along with everyone else.

The bonemeal nerf is great.  Here's hoping Mojang has the guts to keep it (which I doubt.)

is it just me of is Minecraft STARTING TO MAKE sense!!!!!!! NOOOO..... but really , part of the fun of minecraft is "I can punch through solid stone with my fist , your augrument is invaild" i mean come on , bone meal , whyyyyy????? , i remember the first time seeing minecraft in 1.7.3 , and i asked the crap out of minecraft logic , until eventualy, "Logic , aint nobody got time fo dat!!!" and i was like , minecraft doesnt need logic , logic needs Minecraft!!! , i mean with stuff making sense , its losing the "Minecraft Logic" feel, i mean part of bone meal was that it was over powered, this is starting to look like the better than wolves mod (where minecraft has Logic) , i would be fine if the bonemeal was an option that was like /gamerule of something but , bonemeal has been like this for about , what , 30 versions , we havnt seen the need to change its awesomeness.
If the cake is a lie........ does that mean if i build a house out of cake my house isn't real?
Your sense of style is pathetic , I always look to java programers for style , because where ever they are , they always have .class.

Cool new snapshot, though i think they should add a command to the command blocks to be able to change texture packs while in a certain area. Just something i think should be added for map makers to have a sort of feel and not break immersion while playing a map. Posted Image

I never use bonemeal so it's not an issue for me.  There's always other things I can do while I wait for crops to grow and my farms are huge enough to be self-sustainable.

All in all a good update...

Still too many darned caves and ravines though.  need a custom world setting for it.  I've effectively stopped playing minecraft because of how much of a pain in the rear it is to build underground structures. and backfill everything.  Also there's so many mobs underground that I can walk around most nights and barely see anything anymore on the surface.

I'm torn on the bonemeal thing...  I like being able to pause in the middle of a plan's growth cycle and then actually be able to look at the plant as a texture pack maker... but as a player I'm very concerned.  Yea, it seems like you can really rock out with bone meal atm, but I don't know that wheat will be even close to worth trying to grow.  I think that might make it a little too hard when starting a new map... But I never thought the game needed to be harder.

I never like it when the people who always shout "harder" get their way because they will never be satisfied with how hard the game is.  They will always want it harder no matter how hard it gets.  But that's my two cents.

Edit: So I'm really not happy about the bonemeal thing now... being that it takes 7 to grow any edible crop, wheat, potatoes and carrots. I guess I was just blindly hoping that all crops would grow one bonemeal per growth stage.  If we add in a more concentrated fertilizer I'll be less annoyed but right now I already have stacks and stacks of bones that I don't use, and now I'm even less likely to use them and more likely to just throw them away.  Useful items turned into trash *sigh*

Cool, dispensers now make TNT activate once it gets spit out.  now I can make a compact TNT canon

It shouldn't advance everything one stage. It should take two or three hits for all the crops to grow, not seven for wheat, which is supposed to be noob food (not wheat, but bread :P).

Why ... seriously why do they have to f*** with stuff that has been there for ages!?

I mean okay, if they'd change it to make it harder (e.g. having to smelt bones to get bonemeal or something like that) more power to them, but having to click seven times to grow a crop!? That doesn't make it harder it just makes it take more time WHICH ISN'T FUN!!!!!!!

... also yay for some useful changes

Also, Does anyone know -why- the shift double clicking doesn't work anymore?  Someone said they took it out but do we know why?  that was the absolute bomb.

Quartz looks awefully like marble that greeks and romans used.

My guess is that it is for possibly a new temple:)

Ah, the smooth stone block returns? Happy with that, it is a beautiful modern stone. Only too bad they give it another value. I once had a beautiful modern complex all made with that block. Now it is made of... netherbrick. And it will still remain netherbrick now. Darkness has overcome it... :(

Also happy with the new features of the dispensers. I see many possibilities with it. You walk into a room and suddenly a well primed TNT-block falls on your head. Or a painful shower of arrows. Oops...
