Minecraft - 9 Million Sales, and Counting
_________________________________
That's right, the PC version of Minecraft has surpassed
9 million sales! Minecraft as a game continues to have a phenomenal level of success, with humble beginnings in the hands of Mojang founding member Markus "Notch" Persson, and growing over a period of years into one of the most successful indie game titles in gaming history. In addition, the recent changes to Minecraft in 1.4.7 - and future changes planned the game, including Mod API support, more adventure map options, and all sorts of customization options, including the highly anticipated Redstone Update - Mojang continues to push the game to new heights, even as they get involved in the community, with everything from
direct-feedback bug fixing to real-life renewal projects.

Also, finally armor and 6 slabs in the PE. And I'm pretty surprised that upside down/corner stairs and upside down slabs will be implemented very quickly into the PE.

The PE is definitely very popular but will it eventually out sell the original??? Post Yes or No in comments and make it obvious you are replying ex: (I am not going to say my personal opinion)

Well, the PE will probably out-sell the PC version because people use smart phones a lot nowadays. Not to mention it's cheaper, and there's a demo. Ooh, another thing, it's only, like, 7mb.
For now.

Personally, I doubt it; the pocket edition is fairly limited when compared to the PC version, not just in features (which they'll doubtless add more of) but in terms of how much it can be modified.

People were saying minecraft was going to shut down because of the lack of money to make updates. Who makes up those rumors?

All I can say is I have a lot of respect for Notch turning an idea for a game as simple as mining and crafting into a success. Then all the respect for the people at Mojang who took Minecraft and turned it into the multi-million dollar game that it is today. In my humble opinion, the world is just a little bit better because of Minecraft. Thanks Notch and congratulations on 9 million.
