Notch just dropped a bombshell on Twitter: patch 1.6 will be coming to the Minecraft beta next week. While it's probably taken a little longer than originally planned, it's for a good reason. The patch was primarily a bug-fix update that would include only one new feature: an awesome in-game map system.
Then a few weeks ago Notch updated the timetable for the patch release as "not soon" because he wanted to do something else: add a fully functional Nether to multiplayer.
So we know that maps are coming, as is a working Nether, and there are a lot of bugs squashed to boot. What are you looking forward to most in the patch?
I kinda think that 1.6 is a joke. It doesn't add much. There are a few things Mojang needs to make a good match.-Fix water bugs. I miss TNT Cannons-Add the Piston mod-Add place-able furniture.
Well, NickWaterfall is back after a Terraria-based vacation from Minecraft :wink.gif:
Seems like this 1.6 update is gonna be the biggest bug-fix update yet released :biggrin.gif:
Also if everyone hasnt noticed that they said that you can use the maps to record where youve been on a multiplayer server then give the map to someone else to show where youve been! Thought that was a little neat...
cant wait for the update. and finally a map, always wanted one, since i dont like installing mods, and the hatches are going to great too, im gana use them with the my new adventure map im making.
Holy hell, hatches! Nether is ok but the server I play has McMMO and the Nether materials are all found with a high excavation skill level, and the odd map style kind of looks like it sucks.I'm also a bit curious about what it means that the record player supports 15 different songs. Are more records being added?
It already is fixed.
I knew it, told my friend "Bets on 1.6 date? I'm guessing Thursday."
Someone owes me $5. 8-)
