For enchanted books, you need an anvil.  Place the thing you want to enchant (Has to have a durability bar) and you are set.

What error do you get?  I keep getting 'Internal exception: Java.net.socketexception: Connectionreset'.   Extreme annoyance.  Anyone else having this problem?

This isn't a new update. This is a video about the past update with the enchanted books in it.

To make them, enchant them like you would a sword. To use them, "Repair" a sword or other item with them on the anvil. Easy peasy.

Fireworks screw up bad in servers... This is probably why you are crashing. Try just going to a different server.
but then I took an arrow to the knee.

I have bought gift code, and I could not find my purchased code serial number which use for reedem code. OR do you now how to use minecraft. I aready brought minecraft account and minecraft gift code, but then do not serial number. please help

Fireworks are crashing servers... installing any mods is crashing servers... looks like i have to forget about playing at my server (even if it's laggy) normally, furthermore, with mods.

No, they told you 1.5 was going to be the redstone update.
They told you this update was coming out early so people could have fireworks for New Year's.
