That's right, MCX360 is getting updated very soon!  How soon?  December 19th, 2012!  The latest update will bring the XBLA sandbox game nearly up to speed with the 1.0 release of PC Minecraft, including a ton of new features.

  • Animal Breeding
  • Brewing
  • Experience Points
  • Enchanting
  • Mushroom Biome
  • Nether Fortresses
  • Skin animations

This is only scratching the surface of all the updates coming on the 19th, and let's not forget about all the awesome new avatars, coming soon!

It seems that every version of Minecraft is going through a series of very exciting changes as we approach the end of 2012.  PC Minecraft is edging ever-closer to the Modding API, Pocket Edition adds more blocks, tools, monsters, and features with every iteration, and MCX360 is rapidly closing the gap between itself and PC Minecraft, while adding some special goodies unique to itself.

Don't forget - when MCX360 updates, it will prompt you to patch the game.  Once it does, you are good to go!  Stay tuned as we bring you more exciting updates!  Check out all the update details by clicking here!

According to their twitter, it is the new enchanting with max 30, plus we get the smelting/mining/breeding xp brought forward as well.

Hrm, not a half bad idea... a mod that lets you use the most current engine, but restricts content to mimic older versions *starts jotting down notes*

Yes, the PC version was first but I don't see how that makes it better. Besides sprinting on the 360, everything is implimented in a way that feels more natural for us Console gamers. And if you only play it to harrass little kids, you have problems and too much spare time.

WOOT! I've been waiting for this one for a while; thought it was going to be in January. I play PC a lot more, but I still get very excited for the Xbox updates. :)

1: Agreed.
2: They can make limitations, e.g. if there are no visible pixels on the head or torso, those areas will remain black.
Or, some servers can choose which skins have those rules. Some people could run around completely invisible, like if they don't want people to see them. (Creative servers?)

They're just skipping the 1.9 updates? I don't believe it. It's just so convenient! I don't have to wait much longer to avoid that bad space between 1.7 and the full version. 1.8 was the awkward zone.

Yes, it would be a problem, but it would be fun to try invisibility skin on a server just once. :3
