Torhal has submitted an amazing video of a shader mod to our videos section. Shader mods change the way that blocks are rendered on the screen, and this one twists and rotates the image for the user, creating a psychedelic effect. Warning: Watching this may cause nausea.

To achieve the effect, the GLSL Shader Mod was used,  as well as a custom shader which you'll need to set up yourself. From the video's description on doing that:

Quote

copy it to a txt file then rename the txt to - base.vsh then making sure to backup your existing, base.vsh drag it into the shaders folder located inside your minecraft.jar (once the GLSL shaders mod is installed of course)

Digital Diamonds is an ongoing look at Minecraft-related videos that have been submitted to the Minecraft forum video section. We'll be selecting videos resonating with the community to share with everyone on the front page.

would be a nice effect to use when getting to this new floating island biome thing, if its a seperate 'world' like the nether.

Impressive, although with all the twisting of the blocks, I kind of got disoriented a bit there. Other than that it seems cool, must've taken some time but seems like the progress is already worth it.

I was thinking the exact same thing, though probably not for the floating islands, which are already probably going to be hazardous enough. But maybe some sort've dream realm.
