Minecraft World Management Tools, now in the Client!

Posted Image

Have you ever died in-game, or had your home destroyed by creepers, and thought to yourself, "Man, I wish I could just go back and do that over again"?  Lucky for you, we have thought that too!

Are you ready for a savegame management tool that will let you back up and restore your worlds, quicksave on the fly, and even store backed up world copies on the Cloud, to free up hard drive space?  The new Curse Client - Minecraft Update includes a host of features, including:

  • Saved Worlds:
Each individual world on your computer can be locally backed up for safe keeping! In addition to showing when a world was last backed up, the "More Info" tab will show you your health, level, and the number of items in your inventory, as well as give you the ability to share your world's seed with a simple click to copy option. Any saves listed on this screen can be restored.
  • Quicksave:
In regular intervals, the Client will create a quicksave of any given world -- These can also be created upon hitting the escape key. If you manage to fall into some lava, have a creeper destroy all your hard work, or just want to go on an NPC rampage without there being consequences, the Quick Saves will have you covered. Just click to restore the world back to its previous state!
  • Saved World Sync:
Any Curse Premium member will additionally have the ability to sync any world to the cloud, allowing you to download your world to any PC without the hassle!
  • Texture pack and Server management tools

That's all pretty cool, but what about something special for the creative minds of the community?  Any artist, modder, or equally creative talent who uploads their creations to the Client via Bukkit (for Minecraft), or CurseForge (for any other game), and gets 1,000 or more downloads will get FREE Curse Premium!

Ready to give the Minecraft World Management features a try?  If you haven't picked up the Curse Client yet, click here, download the client, and give it a try today!

This was after the release when this was originally posted on November 20th. If you have any insight on why the quicksaves don't work or why the manual backups refuse to work, even after MC had been long since closed, I'd appreciate it.

Edit: By "not working" we mean that the client states that whenever you hit Esc, the client should create a quicksave, but it never does. I'd attempted this on multiple worlds and none of the quicksaves ever appeared in the client.

If you send an email to [email protected] they'll do their best to resolve any issues you have. Sorry for the troubles!

The quicksave feature should definitely be working, with or without Premium - they are kept at the bottom of the client list, did you check there?

This is a great release from Curse! I mean like backup restorations are good for those who put a whole lot of effort in there creations, and explorations! Good job! :)

What do you mean by "not working", can you explain what happens?
[/quote]

As I play quicksaves aren't created. I press esc, i wait a couple minutes but still shows that I do not have any quicksaves. I've backed up the worlds that I played on incase that was the problem, but still nothing.

This is yet another awesome feature. The Curse client looks very nice and iv'e just gotten it.It will also sign you into Curse(and the Minecraft Forum) when you startup, plus you no longer have to go through the hassle of manually saving and backing-up your worlds,I just noticed i already made backups of my worlds before I had the client, lol.Plus,it has a list of texture packs and other addons for Minecraft so you dont have to go searching through Google for stuff.Very nice client. Seems like this is creating more problems than solutions. No offence, but maybe you should have either explained it a little
more or tested it before publishing the new features.

I am always getting the message ''Please close saved game first'', even if Minecraft is closed. Why is this and how can I fix it to allow backup saves?

I find it surprising that Curse has yet to realize that no one likes them.

They know it's just that they are trying to be more likable.
