The 1.4.4 Update is finally out!  Today's release is the same client from the pre-release last week, but now it's a full, official release.  Just in case you haven't had a chance to see the changelogs, they include - among other things:

Changelog
  • Server IPs can now be hidden individually when editing or adding a server
  • Server version is now displayed left of the connection bars
  • Server ping tooltip now shows if the server and client have mismatching protocol versions
  • Mismatching servers can't be joined
  • Renamed Chat Settings to Multiplayer Settings
  • Added an option for cape-owners to hide their capes in-game
  • Added Fullscreen and VSync toggles
  • Though this is not in the settings menu, you may go into the options.txt in %appdata% and toggle advancedToolTips. This shows you the item IDs of everything and the durability of tools and armor.
  • The piechart is now shown when using shift+F3 instead of vice versa
  • Added the cardinal direction and the degree value to the f value indicating the direction the player is facing
  • Now shows which chunk and where in that chunk the player is in on X and Z values
  • Pressing P while holding F3 will toggle the auto-pause when the Minecraft window loses focus
  • Pressing H while holding F3 will toggle detailed item descriptions, which additionally show item id, damage value, color code, tool/armor/weapon damage and map zoom level and scale on the tooltip
  • Updated language files
  • Spawn protection now is disabled if there's nothing in ops.txt
  • Spawn protection radius can now be changed in the server.properties file
  • Improved Creative inventory
  • Items can now be cloned by using Pick Block on them - An item stack with the highest amount of items possible in it will be created
  • Items can now be shift-clicked around on the survival inventory screen
  • Improved General inventory
  • Pressing the 1-9 hotkeys while hovering over an item will exchange that item with the one from the corresponding hotbar slot
  • Status effects now cause the inventory window to be off-center regardless of screen aspect ratio
  • A whole lot more changes

To update, simply start up your Minecraft PC game, and press "Yes" when it asks you to update the game.  Enjoy!

Yeah I'm also having trouble with connecting to LAN. Plus i have a Macbook Pro with OS X 10.7.5 and I cant even get the update on this computer. It stops and i says something but it goes off the edge so i cant really even read it. It looks like some sort of link though. Please tell me how to fix this, Thanks!

I'm not having any trouble, except for the massive lag spikes and the whitescreens...
I didn't have them in the 1.4.4 pre-release. Wat?

The whole game is updated, not just the servers.

Finally. I hope this is the last update to the full version. Sigh. Arrows don't stick in mobs btw. I havn't checked anything else, but thats what i was most interested in, because it would be hilarious.

Nope, pretty sure this is 1.4.2, because 1.4.2 is the version I am using and all of the things listed above are in the game (I went in my game just now and checked). The only thing about 1.4.4 in that post is the link leading to the report. [img]http://static.minecraftforum.net//public/style_emoticons/default/sleep.png[/img]

EDIT:
Just checked, and even the link provided in the OP is useless, considering the wiki article doesn't even list 1.4.4 yet. :/

Could you spare a few seconds of your time to help my babies grow? (Be sure to go to my cave for the rest of my dragons.)

I won't be updating until the servers I play on do, but if the Play In Browser version on the main site is 1.4.4, I do NOT look forward to having the Menu popping up randomly while I'm trying to mine. :I

How you.... what? If none of us can understand what you want, none of us are going to be able to help you. And unless it's related to 1.4.4, you would probably get a better answer from someone in one of the forums/subforums.

Give this a try guys. This was suggested in the bugtracker and could be a possible fix. I haven't tried it yet since I started playing on MineCraft_Server before this came up... seems like it should work if you're just typing the real IP and connecting to it.

I think you quoted me by accident there? I wasn't talking about any bugs. I was talking about how the list in the OP is of 1.4.2 and not 1.4.4.
