The much anticipated Minecon 2017 announcement has been made, and this year Mojang will be doing something different -- but a whole lot more inclusive! Minecon 2017 is known as Minecon Earth, an event for every Minecraft fan to participate in. Here's what we know so far:
1. Minecon Earth will take place on Saturday November 18th, 2017 and start at 17:00 GMT.
2. The event will be live streamed on a variety of popular streaming platforms, and is 90 minutes long.
3. There will be a costume contest open to everyone at home, the submission process will be announced nearer the event -- get making!
4. During the event you'll be able to purchase limited edition merchandise.
As we learn more about Minecon earth we'll announce it here on the Minecraft Forum too. Stay tuned!
Along with the Minecon Earth announcement, Mojang have announced Community Events too. These events will take place all over the world throughout the year. Here's what we know about community events so far:
1. Each event will feature a variety of your favourite content creators, from YouTubers to streamers, you can meet your idols.
2. There will be costume contents, tournaments, unique content and more!
3. Every event will be authorised by Mojang to ensure they provide an authentic Minecraft experience.
4. Starting out Community Events will be hosted by Minevention, Minefaire and Blockfest, a new festival coming soon from Multiplay.
5. Mojang will be adding more and more partners to take Community Events worldwide, so regardless of where you live in the world there'll be an event for you!
